Viola make new Blasi bid Monday 22 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fiorentina have reportedly increased their offer to Juventus for combative midfielder Manuele Blasi.

The Viola have spent all summer looking for a new central midfielder and Blasi has been linked for some time.

Whispers suggest that the Tuscan side have made a £3.5m offer after Juventus rejected an earlier bid of £2.8m.

A deal could now be done before the end of the week even if the Turin giants value the Italian at around £4.5m.

The former Perugia youngster has been specifically requested by new Fiorentina boss Cesare Prandelli.

The latter worked with Blasi at Parma two seasons ago, before both left the Stadio Tardini in the summer of 2004.

Should Juventus sell Blasi, they are likely to make a move for Inter’s Cristiano Zanetti as a replacement.

Why don't we sell half of Blasi to Fiorentina for £2.2m and buy that half back next year for about £2 and 20p? We've done that before with the Viola.

That seems a fine idea to me.

If we do get rid of him, id love us to go for Juve fan Mavuba. He will be a a big star for Le Bleu in the future.

And as he randomly admitted his dream to join his favourite club, on numerous occasions...shouldnt be too hard to convince him to come, if not now, defo in the future when emo and vieira go.

For how much would Inter let go of Zanetti? I don't get why we are going after Zanetti soo much.
Becos Capello has some weird players (eg Panucci, Zanetti) in his mind that he thinks his team would be complete :D

Why just sell Blasi to get Mavuba? Both are nothing more than fringe players, if we're selling Blasi it makes more sense to buy a central defender or a left winger.

    Giannichedda will do just fine.

blasi can leave. id rather zanetti as he is better. what we really need is a two way midfielder on the bench. we only have purely DM as back ups.

Agreed. We already sold Tacchinardi and Appiah this summer, it wouldn't be smart to have such a change in central midfielders.
