iaquinta should stay...

he was very good last year...

and he is the only trezeguet-stlye player we have...

Amauri is more DP-stlye
trez is a ST that may score one goal and do nothing else in a whole match
IQ is a ST a real fighter that gets outside the box helping our midfielders and definitely does more things than Trez
Amauri looks like Ibra,a ST with much flair strength and quality
DP is DP.end

Iaquinta hails affectionate fans
Friday 11 July, 2008
Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta insists that he never feared for his future in Turin but was heartened by fans’ protests at transfer rumours.

Former Udinese hitman Iaquinta played irregularly last term and there were reports that he was frustrated by his lack of games.

Sources suggested that the Calabrian predator could head for the exit, but fans rallied to his defence and a group sent a letter of complaint to the Old Lady’s headquarters.

“The affection that the fans are showing me makes me happy,” Iaquinta said.

“I knew that I would be staying at Juve because I was told before I left to go on holiday and I am happy that I am remaining in Turin.”

With Palermo star Amauri being added to David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero and Iaquinta, the possibility of a striking trident presents itself.

“We tried it in the League last year in both games against Roma,” Iaquinta recalled.

“It went well because we drew in Rome and we won in Turin. But it’s all up to the Coach.”

Iaquinta concluded by discussing his desire to return to the national side after missing out on Euro 2008.

“Everyone thinks about the national team,” he stressed. “It’s every player’s dream to represent their nation.

“Now it’s up to me to show my ability and then I’ll obviously hope to get a call.”

I Knew I Would Stay - Iaquinta
Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta talked about the fans' affection for him and his desire to return to the national team. After so many rumours about his future, striker Vincenzo Iaquinta can rest assured: he is not leaving Juventus anytime soon. The fans love him, as evidenced by the fact they wrote a letter of complaint when it was said the club were planning to sell the player.

"I'm happy about the affection the fans are showing me," he said. "I knew I would stay at Juve because I was already told before leaving for vacation and I'm happy to be staying."

On the possibility of playing with three strikers, Iaquinta said: "We tried it in the league last year, in both games against Roma, and it went well because we drew in Rome and won in Turin. But it's up to the coach."

On a possible return to the national team, which he hasn't played for since dropping out due to injury, the World Cup winner commented: "Everyone thinks about the national team, it's every player's dream to play for the national team. Now it's up to me to show myself, and then obviously I hope to get a call up."

Iaquinta: «Thanks to my team mates»

A goal in Copenhagen, two in Dortmund: Vincenzo Iaquinta is truly on European form. The former Udinese player is one of the fittest at this stage, but he's also a forward who can play alongside anyone. After doing well with Amauri in Denmark, in Germany he played 45 very intense minutes, always trying to take advantage of his team mates' excellent passes.

«I must thank Nedved and Poulsen for the assists and Del Piero for his through pass, when I wasn't able to score. For a striker it all becomes much easier when you play with team mates like these. Everything's going well so far, the team are improving match after match, I'm sure we'll do very well»
