New injury for Iaquinta
Bad news from pre-season training at Juventus, as Vincenzo Iaquinta has sprained his right knee.

The striker spent much of last term on the treatment table with a series of injuries and was hoping to start on the right foot.

Instead, a note on the official club website confirmed he had “sprained his right knee.

“Tomorrow further tests will be conducted to evaluate his condition.”

It’s another blow for Iaquinta, whose future at Juventus is far from secure.

The veteran and versatile forward has been linked with, among others, Napoli and Bologna.

A ploy to scupper a potential transfer away?

It has happened every mecato he has been heavily linked with a move away. Quite the coincidence, although purposely injuring yourself and/or faking injury would be hard to get away with.

Zebina was the same, always taking himself off the market with injuries during the transfer window, and we had to buy him out for him to finally leave.

 Good ole Vincenzo, at least you can always rely on him to get injured very early on in the season, but this has to be a record, even for him
