Ever heard that misleading the readers is very immoral Mr. Moral?
If you're referring to me, I never mislead the readers. I never said Christian Vieri was playing for Australia, and anyone who knows anything about the rules of football knows that it would be impossible for Vieri to play for another country even if he marched into Sepp Blatter's office with dynamite strapped around his waist

You'd be amazed with what you can achieve with dynamite. ;)

 maybe he could with dynamite, but I don't think he has dynamite so my point still stands: Vieri will never play for the "Socceroos"

Gawd I hate that name :groan: They even use it in their official matches. The scoreboard reads "Socceroos 1-0 Uruguay". Sure, it's okay to have a nickname for your team, but using it on the stadium scoreboard? :wallbang:

I support my uni team - every time we win, it's "Students Teach <INSERT BEATEN OPPONENTS> a Lesson" or some slight variation on that in the papers. :groan:

Once a player is called for the senior team of any national team, he can't play for any other national team except them for the rest of his life.
    ERRRR
    WRONG!!

it is once a player is called to play a FIFA legislated COmpetitive GAME

So if say lets say D'Alessandro who has a Italian Grandfather

I think he has yet to play a qualifier or a COpa AMerica for ARG

so if Trap would be a bit more sharp we would of at least asked him to be included for the squad in the qualifier

and also a call up is not enough you have to actually take part in the game

if it were for me i would base it on nationality. if u are italian u play for italy. simple and easy
Is it that simple? Guys like Gary Breen and Kevin Kilbane are English by birth, but have Irish parents, and consider themselves Irish. Others, like Mick McCarthy, in a similar position, take pride in duel nationality.

Should they all have been forced to play (or not play!) for England?

    Vieri called up by Australia
    Tuesday, 16 March 2004

Australian coach Frank Farina has called up Christian Vieri's younger brother Massimiliano, for the international friendly against South Africa.

Max Vieri is currently out on loan at Napoli from Juventus, but has not been a regular for the Serie B club.

Vieri holds dual nationality for both Australia and Italy, but was unlikely to force his way into Giovanni Trapattoni's thoughts.

Should Vieri impress in the game there is a chance he will be included in Farina's Olympic squad for the summer.

This would be a major boon for a player who has found himself out of favour for his club, where Davide Dionigi and Gianluca Savoldi have been the regular strike partnership.

hahahha, damn you gray, i thought it was christian vieri

If I remember correctly Vieri said that he would quit football to play cricket if it paid as much... I can definitely picture him charging in with a new ball in his hands, bowling bouncers galore, but then again he'd never be able to make the Australian first XI.
