Torino boss Giampiero Ventura hopes his solid managerial record against the Bianconeri can inspire his side to a positive result in tomorrow’s first Turin derby at Juventus Stadium.
Reflecting on the occasion itself, Ventura said: “Last year we dreamt of playing the derby and we’ll now go to Juventus Stadium happy and honoured to have deserved this opportunity. Last year was important: Juventus dominated the championship, while Torino more or less dominated Serie B. Tomorrow will therefore be an occasion to celebrate for the city of Turin.”
“There’s already the difficulty of coming up against the championship’s strongest side, if we’re too tentative and fearful then it would become difficult to get a result. However, I don’t think that will happen, we’ve already gained great awareness of our abilities.
“I’ve also got a relatively decent record against Juventus, I beat Ferrara’s side 3-1 and Del Neri’s outfit 1-0, so there are some positive statistics in our favour.”
