vdv had an interview today with eurosport.de

he said that he still dream to play for a big club in europe... specially in spain

Van Der Vaart Urges Blues To Bid

Want-away Hamburg ace Rafael van der Vaart has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Chelsea...

Rafael van der Vaart has hinted that there’s nothing Hamburg can do that would persuade him to stay at the HSH Nordbank Arena and urged Chelsea to move for him in the summer.

The Dutch international has long been admired by the Stamford Bridge side, but it was Valencia who made the first move last year, failing in a €22 million (£18 million) bid for the forward.

Now, Van der Vaart is keen to avoid a repeat, insisting it’s time for him to join an elite club.

Chelsea are likely to spend in the summer in a bid to revamp their 'win ugly’ brand of football. Reports suggest that former Ajax man Van der Vaart, who has 50 caps for the Netherlands, could be high on the Blues’ wish-list during the off-season.

"What happens when Chelsea or another top club comes along on August 21 and offers €30 million?" the 25-year-old asked Sport Bild.

"I would want to move, even at the very last minute of the transfer window.

"Hamburg made me a great offer last year and I turned it down because my aim is to move to a big club where I can improve and win trophies.

"My opinion will not change."

He should respect HSV and their fans and be quiet. HSV has ressurected his career after a bad last period at Ajax. Sure he wants to move to a big club thats understandable, but he can do that without the media.

Don't be such cry-babies people, he just mentioned Chelsea in a "what-if" scenario as a big club with a lot of money. This doesn't mean shit. And he sure as hell isn't gonna go to Valencia, I wouldn't even consider playing there if they where to ask me. With his abilities he SHOULD be playing at a major team, he's right about that. HSV should be thanking the lord for his time in Hamburg.

And what's up with falling in love with a guy the moment he mentions Del Piero as an idol, and hating him the moment he mentions Spain or Chelsea as a possible destination. Some people are acting like a women with PMS... :disagree:

I for one would still be a very happy man if he would be coming to Turin this summer.

You may be right about that, but we all know how media works. Journalists ask question with the intention to get provocative answers and sometimes they succeed. And above that, most qoutes get ripped out of context enormously or are translated shitty.

i agree, id still love if vdv came to juve, he can talk and talk and talk, but when it comes down to it, if he were to come to juve and perform really well thats all that matters. However i think its really doubtful that he will be signed by us.

Similar to Sissoko's case, everyone hated him for saying that he'd rather stay in Liverpool than go to Juve, those same people are now hailing him as the best thing since sliced bread!
