Juve will have to find somebody else to fill Nedved shoes. They supposedly wanted VDV "badly" but Juventus isn´t keen on spending big money on players they want. Unfortunately, you have to do so with high quality players that are important for their clubs.
There is a price you pay for quality. I don't think we are in a position to indulge right now. Unfortunately. I would love to see VDV on our squad.

true we are in no position to indulge in quality but we do desperately need it .
Nedved is probably playing his last season at juve and even this year there isnt a quality player to replce nedved when he needs rest or is injured . We do need an Om but we need a cb even more especially because chiellini is leaving .
Juve need quality in defense and thats a fact , or we will pay for it this season .

The problem is that our managment announced budget about €100mil and how much we spent?? Just look at Atletico and who they bought for about €80mils total, and who we bought? The thing that pisses me off is that I'm sure that almost any player would rather choose us over Atletico but they still managed to sign bigger players than we. I'm not bashing the board cuz they managed few good transfer and transfer period is not over yet but like many of you said we could sign better players. And finally we need to splash money for a big name signing and board must understand that or we never gonna sign anyone (ofcourse I agree with board that Militto was overpriced so is Pepe, but you can't sign WC player like VDV for penauts)
:agree:

we have lots of money to spend but hey why spend it on quality players when we have average players who could cost less
stupid thinking that really annoys me

I can see us strengthening with some great players but I don`t see us go far for double players or even triple players with less than half of their quality!

its all about quality not quanity
I guess our board simply dont understand it

while we buy players like Tiago who isn`t that bad but he is surely not the player we would have bought if all that calciopolli wouldn`t have happened

I don`t even want to comment about Iaquinta who was vastly overpriced and barely is a sub player

VDV available take him

Pato was available great prodigy and exactly the player who can change things in a team could be one day the best player in the world but no he cost too much so lets buy Iaquinta who has no talent and cost a bit less

WE NEED QUALITY!!!!
why is it so hard to understand

Real Madrid bought quality for years and before last season didnt win a single trophy since 2003, Chelsea have arguably the most quality in the world but still didnt manage to win EPL last season. NO we do not need quality, we need players who fit in and who are determined.

I am dissappointed in our transfers. I wanted to see less new players, but better ones. I am not sure if saving a couple mil here and there will pay off in the end. I think our team is saturated with above average players, instead of having a few really good players.

i want to see bigger name transfers, but our name, tbh, is tarnished a bit and we have just come up one league, and for some of these players they only look at how long they got left and they dont want to come because of that. nevertheess, i think we should push for big name signings.

Ofcourse we do , but players who fit in are most often quality players . The reason Juve and milan have dominated serie A for decades is because of "quality" , they had great quality and kept buying great players .

Chelsea won the FA and carling cup , finished second in the premier league , and went out in the semi finals in the champions league . Yes , very bad season:disagree:

Real madrid had millionaires who made more money from commercials than Half the salaries of all other teams combined . real never had a bad team , they were just missing a gd coach , they won this year because they did have "quality" players and a gd coach to discipline them and lead them .

im not saying we sould buy beckham or ronaldinho , but why not buy players like nasri , diego , VdV , Heinze , meira etc.. ? Yes , it would cost us more money but in the long run its surely better than getting owned by every team in serie A .

Real Madrid bought big names not quality there is a difference!
a player who has a big name doesn`t make him a great player

they also bought some quality players but bought commercial players most of the time

and like someone has said here Real needed a coach that could guide them Capello certainly fits that bill

as for our Juve we have no quality players or a quality coach!

We're Juve. We WILL find someone, and there still is time.
on this forum there seem to be a lot of persons who tend to get nervous really easy
we have a good squad but if we do need someone I'm confident our board will realise that even before we do
Ranieri watches them every day and I'm sure he knows what we lack

Schuster Names Van Der Vaart As Madrid Target

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster continued his whistle-stop tour of European transfer targets, alighting upon Rafael van der Vaart as a possible answer to Madrid's midfield dilemmas...

In an interview with German publication Kicker, recently-installed Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster spoke in convincing terms of his admiration for Rafael van der Vaart.

The Hamburger SV player, signed from Ajax in 2005, is one of the coach's summer transfer targets to build up the Bernabeu squad as they prepare to defend their title.

Schuster said to Kicker, "He is a very interesting player who is on my list."

The Hamburger Morgenpost also attributed to Schuster the following: "We know all about van der Vaart's ability. The fact is, if we want van der Vaart then we will get him."

While the player seems to be relatively happy at Hamburg, he is clearly ambitious and would not baulk at the chance to test his skills in La Liga.

Whether Madrid's interest is serious enough to prompt a bid acceptable to HSV, however, is another question entirely.

Van Der Vaart Reiterates Madrid Desire

Rafael Van der Vaart has reiterated his desire to join Real Madrid, but they are the only club that he would consider leaving Hamburg for.

The Dutch international is a target for Bernd Schuster and he has not hidden his long-held ambition to play for los Merengues.

"I will continue to play for Hamburg next seson unless I receive a call from Real Madrid," he said.

Two months ago, the former Ajax first announced that he was attracted by the idea of playing in Spain and after Schuster's recent delcarations he has gone public once again.

"Van der Vaart is a very interesting player. This is why he is on my list," the Madrid coach stated.

"We know how much he is worth and if we decide to buy him we will succeed," he was quoted as saying in AS.

Van der Vaart has family reasons for wanting to play in la Primera too as his grandparents on his mother's side are from Chiclana, Cádiz.

The 24-year-old regularly visits his family in Andalucia and has been told that they would like to see him playing in Spain to be nearer to them.

Those ties could be crucial if Madrid do make a concrete move for the player.
