Van Der Vaart Linked With Valencia

Valencia are the latest club to be linked with a move for Hamburg’s Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart.

The question as to how long Hamburg can hold on to their midfield maestro Rafael van der Vaart is again being posed.

According to reports in the Dutch newspaper 'De Telegraaf’, Spanish side Valencia are very interested in the player.

The side who finished fourth in La Liga last season are preparing a €14 million offer for the HSV captain. However, according to Hamburg spokesman Jörn Wulf no official offer has been made.

Van der Vaart is under contract at Hamburg until 2010, but the 24 year old can leave for only €1.5 at the end of this season .He has already been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Juventus.
Van der Vaart’s Spanish mother has already admitted he wants to play for a top Spanish club, while his advisor, Sören Lerby, was spotted in the company of Valencia officials during Hamburg’s weekend game against Hannover.

Our best chances to sign VDV would be:
to stay were he is this year and make a proper bid for him next year...

(did i mentioned this thread should have been closed a long long looong time ago?:p )

if you say so secco. we had been linked with him, perhaps not as strongly as diego and vdv i personally wouldnt even pay 18 mill for him anyways.
We were never really serious about Sneijder and even if we were I'd rather have Almiron than him for the crazy amount of money Madrid paid. He's good but not that good.
