Van Der Meyde: Juve Move Attractive

Everton winger Andy Van der Meyde says he wants to return to Italian football, and fancies a move to Juventus.

The Dutchman has had a nightmare spell with injuries since moving to Goodison Park from Inter last summer and is keen to quit the club.

Juve may be in Serie B as a result of the match-fixing scandal, but that doesn’t appear to bother the former Ajax star, who also has an offer from Porto.

"I hope there can be a place for me," he said of Juve. "I want to start from scratch.

"I would certainly be attracted to play for Juventus if they get relegated.

"But my old coach (Co) Adriaanse would like me to help him at Porto.

"I worked a lot with him at Ajax, but I really hope there could be a place for me somewhere in Italy."

I hope too,in Lecce for example,or back in inter.

to be honest, i was surprised by what he said, coming from a non-italian and an ex-inter player. i would be happy to have him in our team even if we stayed.

The guy wouldn't even be good enough for Serie C, not worth buying at all. That he's making a plea to join a Serie B- bound team, says it all really.

This player is more worthless than Gasbarroni. Why the hell would we want Van Der Meyde? He's the most overrated player to graduate from Ajax in years. Yes, even more so than Ibrahimovic.

I agree. Even Dennis Bergkamp and Edgar Davids stank at Inter, then when they went to Arsenal and Juventus they played some of the best football of their lives. Don't rule Van der Meyde out just yet; he got sucked into Inter's black hole but that doesn't mean he's past it.

Worth a shot I say.
Agreed Erik,at a more stable, organised & succesful environment VDM could improve drastically.Good cover for the left flank, were gonna need it.

Hold on now, Ibrahimovic isn't a product of Ajax's youth academy. They bought him from Malmö. Don't foul Amsterdam's good name :D
