the new oranje shirt is beautiful...

i dont know half of the players in the squad. but that was always the case since van basten took over.
The shirt should have the old logo as well, whilst we're going traditional. The new logo doesn't suit the shirt, imo. I know it's the official FA logo now, but... geh

So I think this is van Basten's choice

    -----------------Van Der Sar------------
Kromkamp - Bohlarouz - Cocu - Van Bronckhorst
---van der Vaart - Van Bommel - Sneijder
---------Kurt - van Nistelrooy - Robben

From the games that I saw, I will put Cocu as a defender, he is more realible.
If 1 of the midfielders is injured, Cocu moves up to midfield and Heitinga replaces him. Still as entertaining as ever but the most bizarre thing is still to leave out Davids, Seedorf and Huntelaar :confused2
That's a very likely formation indeed. Leaving out Davids and Huntelaar is puzzling, especially since Kuyt and Vennegoor were included (I hate them both).

Leaving out Seedorf, on the other hand, is GREAT. Seedorf and his humongous ego destroyed team moral during France98 and then again during Euro2000. The man singlehandedly destroyed us twice.

    What happened to Makaay?!?
He stinks in our national team. He scored maybe once against Andorra or some shite nation (no offense to Andorra).

Makaay is invisible in big games. You will know y when u watch all of Jventus - Bayern encounters. Kluivert is overshadowed by Villa and even Mista

I rather put Huntelaar then the footballer with the longest name in Dutch football, I feel that Huntelaar is better

i just noticed there's no van der meyde in the squad either.pity.
Van der Meyde doesn't deserve to be in the squad. He hasn't played consistently well since leaving Ajax.

This WC is a fvcking joke already. No Huntelaar, no Darren Bent, but Babel and Walcott? FFS.
Doesn't really bother me TBH. I suppose you're looking at it from the point of view that the World Cup is the biggest footballing stage there is and the best players should be there. I'm thinking that's just too bad for Holland and England, all the better for Italy.

Erik just out of curiousity, how many times did you watch Davids last season at spurs? I do not know whether there are better players in his postion in Holland but the Davids i saw was below par way too often in the league last season. He was always tired and got by mainly on his name and reputation alone. I would have been more worried if he included Bouma but I do like Emmanuelson and De Jong. Robben needs to step up as i was not impressed with him at all as his decision making was not great and I do not think Van Nistlerooy will be pleased to be playing with someone who makes decisions like his club mate Ronaldo does.

I have to admit that I didn't see much of Davids, but what I heard suggested that his passing wasn't the tidiest at times, and that he didn't have the influence on the pitch he used to.

I have only seen Davids a number of times this season and I realise his lack of pace (due to age) could cause problems but what other alternatives do we have? I'm not happy with our defensive capabilities at all... They'll cost us.

As for Robben, he had better been saving himself or something cause I share your view...
