Why is everyone doing such an injustice to Park? Yes, marketing issues doubtless helped Man Utd decide to sign him, but he was a damn fine player last season, and I seem to remember him giving the vaunted Milan rearguard a bit of a hiding in a certain continental club championship this season - certainly more than messers Giggs Ronaldo and Rooney did.

Ronaldo and Rooney were looking great in the FA Cup final though. I'm pretty sure those two are going to play a very good season for Man Utd next year.

Park probably is a pretty good player, but he's overrated by most anyway. 4 good games for PSV Eindhoven doesn't mean you're world class.

Doesn't mean he's shit either. Given that the current alternatives to Giggs are Richardson, Fortune and playing an extra centre-mid, Man Utd have strengthened the squad with him.

That's pretty clear to anyone, I think. But it's not right to hail Park as the new Giggs either. He's a good player, but he's hardly something out of the ordinary. But since Nedved started out as nothing out of the ordinary in the first years of his career as well, Park could still prove me wrong. I just think he's going to work very hard to justify Man Utd's buy.

Shirt sales will pay his wages and probably his transfer fee as well. Man Utd can't lose on this one. He struck me as the hard-working type anyway, which has generally gotten players a good chance under Ferguson.

I'm not on about the financial side, mikhail :). I meant it in a football way. Man Utd is a grand club and you're supposed to be a grand player when you're there.

Just heard that Park has landed in Machester to sign the deal, so I guess he'll be unveiled tomorrow.
