they wont tell u unless u apply through ucas, who pass on your infos to the uni's apply for.

cuz they cant give u any offeres if they dont know anything about u and ucas is the mediator between the 2 parties.
That is not true. I am sure all universities give information on how to apply to them. I will email these universities myself just to prove you wrong.

Yeah, that should work, after all.. Hell, our college counselour wouldn't encourage us to do exactly that if she knew we wouldn't get any replies back :p

When one asks for information about such things, one should describe his/her current situation. Man, I've been in four universities in my life and I hold two degrees and I have have the courses for a third degree. I know how one should deal with universities, so please spare me your few months experiences that you had recently.

@BD:not really, I mean, Ed could just email them saying "Hi, I'm Ed, I've got [these qualifications] and I'm wondering if I can apply to your college"

He'd get a simple yes or no answer, no?

well u can apply for any uni, providing u think u can get into it, i mean wot chance lets say does a average student have of joining oxford for example?

thats why u order ur prospectus for the uni, which tells u the kind of requirements needed, sign up with ucas through your school, who too have to fill in parts about u, then the school approves of the form, sends it off to ucas, who send it off to all your choices of uni's you've put down, who will then send u a letter of a official offer, then eventually u will be asked to pick 1 firm offer and 1 insurance offer and decline the rest.

dont u think just sending an e-mail requiring an official offer is a little too simple? and the uni's do require the school to confirm the qualified results as it wud be easy for anyone to put down that they achieved A's when they got sumthing else.

thats why you have to apply through ucas to get into as far as i know, British uni's not sure about anywhere else, cuz ucas is an official mediator between the 2 parties, which the uni's trust, and ucas require your school, no matter where it is to confirm the achieved grades, aswell as your subject teachers to write your reference.

Eddy, why don't you email the universities and ask them what do they want for recquirements? No one here works in the admission or registrar of any of these universities.
and if u didnt mean official requirement offers, then as i explained earlier, it's explained in the prospectus that u send off for, which ull more than likely do as you'll want to know whats involved in the subject.

Well, from what I know Jack, I've called Universities in America but I haven't quite done anything in the U.K. and the last time I tried, they were closed.

    why?

anyways as i said ive just been accepted to a speciallised college uni which is similar to where u wana go to, so if u have any queries ask me, cuz ive just been there done that in terms of the long stressful process.
Alright, so the real deal is to just find which college or universities are specialized ? That should be easy as there are only 6 music schools in the U.K.
