Allright, young bucks, I'm in need of some assistance, as I don't have nearly as much free time as I used to.

I'm looking for some good underground hip-hop. I'm talking thought provoking, positive vibe, party atmosphere underground hip-hop.

I'm talking the type of hip-hop that takes me back to the early 90's underground hip hop scene when such artists as Mos Def, the Roots, talib Kweli, Aaesop Rock, Common were bubbling under at that point in time, yet to be thrust into the mainstream.

Go even further back than that to the times of Just-Ice, Donald D, Masta Ace (Sittin' on Chrome), Paris.

THAT is the type of Hip-hop these old bones crave. The type of Hip hop where as a young kid I would have my boom box that required 12 D batteries, pop a blank tape in, turn on 95.5 WBRU 360 Degree Black Experience in Sound, and press record all day long, every Sunday.

That is what I need. I am now counting on you to provide me the fix.

Don't let this old Hip Hop Soldier down.

La Coka Nostra? I love Everlast!

On the real Sergio, check out J5 aka Jurassic 5. Download a song called Concrete Schoolyard, it basically defines them as a group.

Also, scope out Cunninlinguists. Check out the tune "Thugged out since cub scouts".

Is B-Real a member of La Coka Nostra these days?

I saw them live a while back and I'm certain he wasn't back then. They looked like a bunch of walking clichés anyway.

La Coka Nostra is basically House of Pain back from the grave. B-Real, DJ Muggs, and others tour with the group a special guests. They aren't in the actual group.

The actual group is Everlast, DJ Lethal, Ill Bill, and Slaine.

    Ok, that's what I thought.
I don't really follow hip hop that closely anymore, hence my confusion.

Anyone of you hip hop connaisseurs ever heard (of) Asher Roth?
I must say his album, which I pretty much listened to by mistake, sounded pretty good.
