Del Piero has scored 209 goals and played more than 500 matches since 1993 for Juventus. His entire professional career has been for Juve. He has litterally laid down his life for his beloved Juventus. Even stayed in Serie B with us.

He is, if you judge only by talent, inferior to one the game has ever seen. What he can do with a football on a good day is incredible and he is always fun to watch.

Alessandro Del Piero is the ultimate mythical Juventus hero. :touched:

If DP does not deserve to be in Juve's all time 11 you shouldn't even include anyone in the list!
perhaps i should ahve been clearer here because if you look at my all-time juve team del piero is there. what i was meaning is to point out is that you sem to think that juves history started around 1996/97. how can anyone put emerson in ahead of our greats?you say you never saw deschamps playing yet you have platini in there.
del piero is in my team but davids, emerson and zambrotta are not, i would have zidane, nedved, cannavaro and the likes on my bench.
when you point at other peoples tems look at your own first
----------------------Zoff---------------
Torricelli------Ferrara----Scirea------Gentile

ok so i have taken a bit of creative liscence with my 4-3-3 formation and have platini as an AM/playmaker but for me this would rip any team a new hole

Torricelli------Ferrara----Scirea------Gentile

------------Tardelli--------Deschamps-------
---------------------Platini--------------

Sivori---------------------------Del Piero

Good team Boz. Use Sivori and Del Piero as "second strikers" it is a good option and as they are very fast they would destroy any team with a good counter attack.
And Gentile was a world class defender, he can recover there, pass to the midfield, and then Platini to control the ball. Tardelli and Deschamps can do the same job aswell.

There is a reasonable explanation, my Scottish friend. I was born in 1987. I liked football from the first second saw a football, but my real interest in it began when I started playing myself in 1992 (age 5). But I only began watching football on TV in 1996 (age 9) except for the World Cup final in 1994.

The only 'old' player I included was Platini who I saw in some clips and was left amazed + I have an infatuation for scissor kicks - Michel made a lot of scissor kick goals in his career.

When I made my team I preferred only including players I saw with my own eyes rather than just 'guessing' how good, for example, Gentile was who I never even saw and then include him in my team.

I'd like to correct you in what I did say: I said I never saw Tardelli, I did watch Deschamps in a couple of matches.

For me... And of course all any of us can do when we make our team is speak for ourselves. Emerson was a star for Juve. The same I could say for Davids and Zambrotta. If they weren't of an exceptional level they would never have been in my team in the first place.

Actually, I think that Bozi's team is far better than any other classic Juve. However, there is only one point here, is that I can't imagine Juve without The Blonde Ace.

So now you know more than Channel4?
Go back to the first couple pages, I posted this thing first.
The Coach should be Lippi, not Trapattoni, Del Piero is infront of Baggio and also there must be room for Pavel Nedved.
NO! :D (Like I know or care.)
He is not as good now as in his early days, but most of that is from his injury (somewhere in the end of '99 or so I think).

How can u say overrated to someone who made so many goals, Baggio was good, bu never won a WC or a CL? Baggio didn't played so many years @ Juvé also not?
Delpie has never won a WC or a CL, and he never scores goals.

well for me that makes it even more incredible that you never included deschamps.
now first let me explain something, i am a massive fan of emerson, i thought he was the bet defensive midfielder in europe for quite a few years, then he joined us and was exceptional. however, deschamps still outstrips him in terms of endevour, commitment and class.

but this is your opinion and you are entitled to put in whever you feel, i just couldnt get my head round your resoning. but i will amke one sugegstion, try and catch as many classic games as you can, try and see the earlier generation players if you can, i think it may just change your mind

Fair enough. And yes, I am completely open to watching classic Juve games since for example Gentile could easily have been a better player than Thuram, for instance.

But I guess you need to be lucky to watch the older generations on TV these days. For example it took me 10 years of suspense before I finally got to see Platini. You get the picture...

Never saw Tardelli play, Bozi. And Davids and Emerson are both better than Deschamps was. In my eyes.

You may find it laughable that I placed those stars in my lineup (Emerson, Cannavaro and Thuram) but I find it double as funny that you failed to include the best keeper the game has ever seen, Gianluigi Buffon, in your lineup.

Peccato!
"Ultimate Classic Juventus team." Buffon still has a long way to go until he can be considered greater than Dino Zoff.

Cannavaro was here for two years and guess what... technically he didn't win one trophy with Juventus. Ferrara and Montero both did far more for this club than Mr. Madrid... that's all that matters.

Right on, Rob. We are talking about exceptional stalwarts for Juventus here; players who gave us all they had and actually had their foot in winning multiple titles with us. Emerson is nothing compared to Deshamps in the history of this club. I don't really give a toss how good a player Emerson supposedly was/is.
