I love it how we go after "okay" players and cheer them on, defending them by saying "he tries hard."

How hard does Mellberg try? Does he try hard, or not so much?
No harm in signing good players.

I know what you mean though. We are still signing good players rather than ones that add real quality to the side.

I'm tired of the bosman shit. I love the prospect of getting a good player for nothing but not at the expense of a great player with a price tag. I think Melberg will do ok and Ujfalusi would be fantastic (which leads me to believe tha Secco will either fuck it up or Ranieri will bench him until the 88th every game) but it confirms our board's hestitation regarding player purchases.

They are a paradox. They think they are saving money by buying three medium ranked players (Tiago, Almiron, Nocerino, Andrade) as opposed to buying fewer top ranked players.

Then they finally splurge and it was on Sissoko. Granted he's done well, but they spent money on him after purchasing 3 other players who were suppose to do his job. Had they left Nocerino, Tiago, and Almiron where they were and pushed harder to get Momo in the summer they would have spent less in the long term.

I'm afraid that they'll repeat themselves this summer. Ujfalusi is great, but he's yet another bosman signing after Melberg, Grygera, Salihamidzic, etc. I'm afraid they are trying to build a squad based on a desired budget rather than team needs and player chemistry.

good post! but i would still give them a final chance in this summer's mercato...their 2 latest signings (Stendardo and Sissoko) have worked out well for Juve, so perhaps there is hope after all

Ujfalusi is good, but thats it. I dont mind Juve signing him, but he wont solve any problems we have in the back. Grosso is desperately needed in left back and we still are going to need a centerback to replace Legrottaglie. He played well this year, but if we want to go to the next level, we need someone else, someone like Zapata, Santacroce or Mexes. Barzagli was a favourite of mine, but I really haven't liked the way he has played in the second half of the season. Mellberg is also good, but once again I doubt he'll be starting.

Hey if it ain't broke...if Olof or Ujfo don't start it would mean that Legro/Chiellini are doing a good job...can't really see a problem with that! :)

I see this transfer season as a chance for him to redeem himself & only that.. If Secco doesnt somehow impress I find it incomprehensible that his contract not be terminated.. Although as if the Elkanns will do anything, they are just as guilty for pretending to care about us in the first place, one pre-arranged "forza Juve" comment to Tuttosport per month doesn't mean shit

why do you guys keep on using words as they 'fuck up' and 'even worse'
we just got back from second division, we have qualified for CL and finished third
and you guys act like we got relegated again
is all perfect? no off course not but you think all is perfect at Inter or Milan?

we really need some of the old guard back....we should bring Lippi into the boardroom!!!!
I don't particulary agree, IMO we need to move on with a group of new ambitious people who know both football and business matters and know how to implement their ideas in a successful way.. We need change for the better, all we're getting now is change for the worse as our board know nothing to do with football but that past isn't the future and we need to start a new generation of success and I couldnt be more certain that Gigli, Secco & Blanc aren't up to doing this

Our success this year is down to the hardwork of our players first and foremost. I pose this question.. When DP & so on retire in the near future do you really believe we could become capable of being a world class club on par with Man Utd & Real Madrid because that is where i think we belong and I think with competent management that is very much achievable. Is goofy Gigli and his wacky words the man to lead us into this new era which i think is possible?

u're right, but to deal with footballing matters we need a guy who knows Juve like the back of his hand, and there is no better candidate than Signor Lippi
