The Bianconeri’s upcoming Champions League opponents Nordsjaelland put Wednesday night’s cup exit behind them by returning to winning ways in the Danish championship this afternoon. After initially falling behind in their away meeting with Sonderjyske, the Wild Tigers bounced back to grind out a 2-1 success through Norstrand and Beckmann.
Over in Wales, Chelsea lost their lead at the top of the Premiership following a draw against Michael Laudrup’s Swansea. All appeared to be going to plan for the Blues when Moses gave them the lead just past the hour mark. But the Swans refused to give in and saw their tenacity rewarded with a late Hernandez leveller. Manchester United’s 2-1 home win over Arsenal lifted Sir Alex Ferguson’s men into top spot.
In Ukraine, leaders Shakhtar continued their remarkable winning championship streak with a straightforward 2-0 victory over struggling Sonderjyske. A Douglas penalty put Lucescu’s side ahead in the first half, while Luiz Adriano doubled their advantage after the break.
