Champions League rivals Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the Premiership to four points with a 4-1 win over strugglers Norwich City.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for the Blues, however, as their visitors silenced Stamford Bridge through Holt’s opener after just 11 minutes.
But Di Matteo’s men responded in blistering fashion, with Torres, Lampard and Hazard finding the target to hand them a 3-1 lead at the break.
Ivanovic capped off a comfortable second-half by adding a fourth with less than 15 minutes remaining.
Elsewhere, Manchester City’s home win over Sunderland pushed them ahead of Everton into second place. The Toffees missed the chance to keep up with the early front-runners after drawing 2-2 away at Wigan.
