KUDOS to Bob for bringing in these young guns tonight, especially Agudelo and Diskerud. I've heard good things about the latter, about his technique, and he certainly showed some today. Agudelo, at 17 years old, looks like a very good talent. Lets not ruin that now.
Guzan - Solid - 7
Lichaj - A beast on the right flank. Solid defensively and a threat going forward.
Impressive so far for us. - 7
Goodson - Solid overall. Like how he wins everything in the air, just like he did in college. - 6.5
Ream - Nice debut for the player. Got beat once or twice, but overall I thought he was good. Another player to watch. - 6
Bornstein - Same old same old. - 5
Bedoya - His best match by far for us, no doubt. Looked more lively than usual and put in some good passes. - 6.5
Carroll - Typical performance from him. Quiet player who is sound tactically and keeps the game simple. Not good enough for a starting role though. - 6
Pause - Quiet game from him. Workman-like player. - 5.5
Rogers - Seen better from him. - 5.5
Gaven - Does some nice things with the ball, hooks up well sometimes, but looks a bit slow. Not much end product either. Not sure why he keeps getting called up. - 6
Findley - Does very little. Can't see him getting more caps. - 4
Bunbury - Solid debut. Strong forward who could be a better option than Brian Ching for the targetman role. - 6
Spector - Poor. Can't see him being the option out left. He's not a left-back. - 4.5
Agudelo - Pace and vision. Helped create his own goal with a nice through ball to Diskerud. Couldn't ask for a better debut. - 7
Diskerud - What was that on the goal? Did he intend to flick the ball up like that? In some ways, it did. Great assist and solid defending towards the end of the game. I have a feeling this kid is going to be a hit. - 7

Also, showed Gale some love in the ending moments of the game. We need to get that kid on a team instead of being owned by the guys that owned Mascherano and Tevez.
Oh and I'm pretty sure this was the beginning of the end for players like Eddie Gaven, Robbie Findley, Logan Pause, and Brian Carroll. They're nowhere near the first time, but at least they were given opportunity.
Now time to do the same for Fred X.

Seems to me we have a decent amount of attacking potential, especially in midfield. Looking at some of the second team established players, such as Torres and Holden, we have some competition for Dempsey and Donovan. Then we have the newer guys coming in like Diskerud and Brek Shea, and eventually Andy Najar, Sebastian Lletget, and Luis Gil. So at least in midfield, we have a bright future.
Moreover, looking at Ream and the Galaxy's Gonzalez, we have some talented stoppers as well. I have not seen much of Gale, but many believe he's quite talented as well. Then with Lichaj and potentially Castillo, it will be interesting to watch the defense develop. With Dolomite turning 35 in 2014, I think we will really depend on Lichaj for the right back role since Spector has been shaky.
But the biggest question mark remains the forward line.
We have a match against Chile in January, then Argentina in March. Looking forward to these games. Thinking of ways to incorporate the young guns with the established players might be difficult, but worth a try.

Findley's speed and work rate make him great for the Championship. The Prem teams want him for that too, but he'd have less success. Granted he'll need to figure out how to finish. He had a trial at Wolves and Forest and apparently turned some heads.

Landy really needs to find a way to get out of that nightmare. He loves the MLS though and won't Beckham his away out of a contract.
Holden has been superb for Bolton this year. We really need to find a place for him in the starting XI. Either we change the system or he starts along with the coach's son.
