Andy, I was just talking to a guy that I work with, and his son is actually on the U-18 team, and is being looked at by Blackburn and Everton. He is currently working on getting dual citizenship.

Major tournament is success is a huge aspect. But I think its important to build a brand, build something people can relate to for a while. Something that takes patience and money. One of the biggest mistakes they did here was that they didn't start that at the community and grassroots levels, so it was harder to gain loyalty. There are many teams that span numerous years, so its difficult to have that level of loyalty given the other sports could provide that.

How are the attendances in the states Andy?

I suppose the one promising fact about US soccer is that youth soccer is the most widely played sport by kids in the nation. It might take a couple more generations to truly reap the benefits, but we should eventually. What we need to do is figure out a way of inspiring street football like that in Brazil -- the system here is so set through organizations like AYSO that street football is suppressed. We want a good mix of both.

MLS attendances have been getting slightly better over the years. Seattle, LA Galaxy and Toronto FC have had the best attendance averages, over 20,000, with Seattle having an average of 30,000. A club like DC United sees around 15,000 every match.

The league average is about 16,000.

Hopefully with new soccer-specific stadiums being built those averages will increase.

He's better going forward, but he's only like 5'7 or 5'8 and Spector is 6'+ and plays better defense but can still put a good ball in the box.

Ehh, it's hard to say. Spector has a wide spectrum of performances. Can be great one day, then the next day be a disaster. At the Confederations Cup he was very solid and did well going forward, probably better than what Dolomite could have done. But Cherundolo has more experience and is a little more consistent.

Also, at West Ham Spector has played a considerable amount of positions this season. Rb, Lb, Cb, Rm, Lm, etc. He does much better when he is just playing Rb.

We have actually played Italy pretty well over the years, for what it's worth. Perhaps he's still embarrassed we outplayed them in 2006 and they had to rely on the ref to get the draw.
