Do you think that Tim Ream is good enough to play in European top leagues?

I saw him live when he played against the Montreal Impact and I was very impressed(even if Montreal suck). I watched some MLS games and thought that he was very solid.
As of right now I think he'd be nothing special but he is still young so if you factor in on him adapting his game, I think he'd be a very good defender. He's got a lot of drive and is always impressive. But it is the MLS, I do hope he gets some contract from a European team though!

Maybe? It's hard to tell with US defenders.

He has a certain style about him that isn't really found in American CB's. Ream can possess the ball very well, one of the top three in MLS along with Marquez in doing so, and he reads the game well. He's no doubt a smart defender. Plus he has a decent build. So personally, I think he'd do very well in Europe -- perhaps not England, but another league, maybe Germany or Spain. He isn't exactly a hard-nosed defender but I think that's a good thing for us.

And just to let you know, my Tim Ream thread was total fabrication for amusement purposes.

I thought he was 21 for some reason. That's still young for most defenders though. They hit their prime in their late twenties-early thirties.

I was just providing an FYI. Not disputing your claim.

Another young defender to look out for is Omar Gonzalez, though he's the opposite of Ream and he's 6'5.

He's the better marker, I think. Much more of a hard-nosed CB. But with him and Ream at the back, it will be interesting to see how this team works out. They seem to be a good fit together just on their styles.

Well, the US is without a win in 2011 and we have to go back to the Turkey match last year for a win on home soil. That is unacceptable.

I really don't know what to say anymore. Obviously Spain is going to kick us in the nuts when we play a B team, but there was nothing worthwhile to take from this game, nothing at all. Nobody showed signs of promise, including Agudelo, and nobody seemed to have any care to be on the pitch whatsoever. It was another shameful performance from start to finish, beginning with Bob Bradley. No point in wasting time with player ratings either.

Mexico will destroy us in the Gold Cup, but if we don't make the final, they need to finally remove Bradley. We are regressing as a football nation and we need changes now, not later.

Spain didn't have their first team either tbh. Put Spain's top team against US' top team and you'll get a very similar result.

Like in the Confed Cup, right?

    Oh, wait...
Everyone can be good on their day. Do you seriously think US has a chance at competing with Spain on a regular basis? The teams looked pretty evenly matched to me as far as the amount of starters is concerned.

Obviously, Spain is a better team and would win most official encounters against us. But I don't see us losing 4-0 if we had our best players out there. It would be a closer match, especially if our organization is sound.

But we have a shit coach, so I'm not sure how Bradley pulled the Confederations Cup win.

Bradley is definitely the weakest link. It couldn't be more obvious they're only keeping him because he's American. It hurts to see the boys pull off some incredibly brave performances and strong showings only to be left thinking what could've been if a better coach was in charge of them.
