Actually the US do have good players.I like Mcbride as a player, and he does a very decent job at Fulham. And didnt Landry Donovan or whatever his name is play at Parma or some German club?Or maybe im confusing him with some other player.Either way,i thought he was a talented player and i dont know why he didnt pull it off in europe.

The only bit about Freddie Adu that interests me is wether he's actually 17.
we've all been conned....

he's 24 :agree:

hey guys its useless to talk about things like that. American people dont know nothin about soccer, just like italians dont give a shit about baseball, its the same thing. So when u talk about certain things like they got eddie johnson????? who the fuck is that, or somebody else. Theres no american player that u can say damn he can play hes good. And for Adu...that guy is from Ghana, hes not american, thats african blood, and he could be something if he comes to europe to play, but if he stay in america for the rest of hes career, hes gonna end up just like the rest of the american "soccer" players....but the thing is nobody wants him in europe and thats the problem. And when u talk about soccer in america and their players thats so sad, a really fucked up thing.
Hey, please. Pretty Please. With sugar and a cherry on top.

Shut the Fuck Up.

I'm new to the boards so forgive me in advance, but I must say this and I apologize to the Americans who feel differently than me, but I must say this:

American soccer's problem is not simply talent but the fact that the talent that it does have stays in the MLS. Which in itself wouldn't be so bad if there were decent players from outside of the states playing here. But there isn't. What the MLS should do is stop buying players contracts and holding it above their heads and let these players play outside the country. Adu would be so much better had he been allowed to stay outside of the country. Now is his chance to fail in Utah. Good luck. Americans do know about soccer, the problem is that there are people who run teams in the MLS that don't get it.

Rubbish. Although I admit the transfer system in the MLS seems ridiculous from my point of view, it is in line with some of the other sports there. If Adu had played abroad he would have flopped, as he isn´t ready to play in a big team. According to your theory Adu should be the best player in MLS...which he isn´t.

There is an american player playing in West Ham... Spector is his name I think. He's pretty good
There are a few US players in Europe but they're all young like Zach Witbread whose on loan from Pool or Micheal Bradley at Heereven, and The Gooch at Standard.
