RAI could learn from them :D.
I still haven't forgiven RAI for slamming in a 'mini-spot' during a Coppa game last season just as Gilardino pulled down his pants to check if his hip was bleeding

Great. Now I just hope I don't get to see too much of Cruyff.
From what I hear; it's gonna be a lot of Youri Mulder

:howler:

I like Youri, but they should bring in the big guns: Jan Mulder.

He's on Talpa for Villa BvD. Every single evening; I'm so watching that
Dammit. I'm still hoping for a Beneliga because they could make a show featuring both Jan Mulder and Herman Brusselmans.

I heard VT4 and Kanaal Twee are thinking about using Rick de Leeuw as a commentator? That can't be true, can it? Sure he's nice in a sort of sidekick way, but as a commentator?

I still remember one column of Mulder in which he couldn't satisfy himself with Del Piero's shinguards :D.

here we have ITV and BBc covering it so we get every game, thankfully you now have the option to turn off the BBc commentators during the game and can just listen to the atmosphere in the stadium, so no more listening to john motson harping on about how all the world are terrified of england and how they won the world cup....2 minutes into the italy czech republic game
used this option to great effect during the england portugal game 2 years ago

p.s. let me put this straight its not the english people or in fact the team that irritates the hell out of me and makes me want them to lose. its self-congratulatory commentators like motty and the english media who inflate expectations beyond all belief and think that "johhny foreigner" is running scared of the english lions, this makes me want to put my head through the tv

yeah sky are as bad, for years after manure's last minute win agianst bayern you could almost garauntee that within 5 minutes of any game (inter-milan was a prime example) they would be talking about "that fantastic night in barcelona" now we have "that great fightback in istanbul" due to liverpools success:faq1:
FFS it has nothing to do with liverpool when juve play bayern, nothing to do with manure when juve play barca...etc etc

Add Hugo Borst and it's the perfect trio. Sure they might kill each other, but...

Rick de Leeuw, the musician guy? I only know him from "De Late Show" which I watched once or twice. Don't even know what he does...

ART will have 8 channels dedicated 2 the world cup. during any game u have 2-3 channels for different angles and 2 channels following player A and player B (usually the 2 best players). they will also have one channel for english commentry

ZDF Germany is a free-to-air channel
    neosport live
    RTL

I heard ZDF and RTL will scramble their channels, you got these channels from goalzz.com right? there should be other channels too, I don't want to buy ART

Me neither. I will be in Dubai for the first week of the World Cup, and find it absolutely pointless to subscribe to ART, since I'll be going to Lebanon on June 16th.

I'm trying to find out free-to-air channels that will be showing the games here in the UAE...but apparently ART are screwing everyone over by contacting other free-to-air TV stations and requesting them to scramble the transmission!!!!! :disagree:

Unbelievable. Back home in Lebanon we have the opposite - you can watch the game for free on any channel in any language, in any dialect!! lol :p

Anyways, for those living in the UAE/Gulf...I'd highly appreciate ANY info on how to access a channel that would be showing the games for sure on Hotbird/Nilesat.

    Thanks :)

The swedish channels TV4 and SVT share the rights and will broadcast every game. And I think Tv4 will also show highlights on the webb.
    http://www.tv4.se/vm2006/

Swedish radio channel SR will also broadcast and they have the best commentator so the ultimate game is when I turn the tv audio down and listen to the radio and watch the game on tv :D

That's what I told my friends a couple of weeks ago :D. Seriously, why would anyone NOT see a show with those three?

De Leeuw has come on Belgian tv as a sidekick for a couple of big football tournaments now. He knows his stuff as a fan, but I doubt he knows enough about the game to actually comment.

I need to have that book :D
