Category: General

Igor Tudor believes that Juventus will “easily” win promotion back to Serie A this season – even with their significant points deficit.
“I think playing in Serie B would only be for one year,” said the Croatian international from the club’s pre-season training base.
“I am convinced that with this team it would be fairly easy to finish first or second and be promoted directly to Serie A, even with a 17-point deduction.
“It’s important that all players remain here, but the club has already guaranteed that they will and I have no reason to believe that will not be the case.”
Juventus have lost the likes of Emerson, Fabio Cannavaro, Adrian Mutu, Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta this summer, but Tudor says an exit is not on his mind.
“I am very proud to be here and I will work hard to show that I deserve a place in the team,” he continued.
“The fans who came to cheer us on Sunday in Pinzolo were great. I am sure these hard times will only strengthen the wonderful relationship we have with them.”
The versatile Tudor has returned to the outfit after his loan experiences with Siena and he’s ready for the challenge.
“It is nice to be back and see so many old friends,” said the 28-year-old. “Some of my old teammates have left, but many are still here and it’s nice to work with them again.”
Tudor has been used in both midfield and at the back in recent years, yet he has clear ideas about his role under new boss Didier Deschamps.
“I have already spoken to the Coach and we both believe I should play as a central defender, which is the role I prefer,” he added. “That is the position where I can do best.”
Tudor arrived in Turin in 1998 and has played almost seven seasons with Bianconeri, before his loan to Siena in January 2005.

Source: Football Italia
