Tudor: “It’s great to be back”
“It’s great to be back amongst so many old friends. Some are no longer here, that’s true, but many have stayed and it’s a pleasure to be working with them again”. After a year and an half on loan with Siena, Igor Tudor is back in bianconeri colours and ready to give his all: “I’m highly motivated and very proud to part of this squad again. I have an opportunity to play regular first-team football and I’m not going to waste it”.
The Croatian international then spoke about his promising defensive pairing with compatriot Robert Kovac: “I hope we can play well together. In the past I’ve played in a number of positions but this year I’ve made a conscious decision to focus on defence. Perhaps my versatility has worked against me in the past but I’ve spoken to Didier Deschamps and he told me to go out there and prove I deserve a place in the side”. And the sentence? “Like my team-mates I believe in this club, and together we are ready to give everything to get back in Serie A. A year in B wouldn’t be so bad, seasons pass by quickly. It’s important everyone stays but the club have already confirmed that is the case and I have no reason to think any differently”.
Igor signalled Nedved’s decision to stay as a great example to the rest of the squad: “Pavel should be proud of the decision he made. Ibrahimovic? He’s working well and looks highly motivated in training”. Tudor then spoke of the players’ relationship with the fans: “What doesn’t kill you can only make you stronger. I think what we’ve been through has strengthened us as a group and brought us closer to the fans”.

I hope he stays healthy. If he is we have a great asset to the team.
