Trez: We must strengthen
David Trezeguet has said he will stay at Juventus until the end of the season, but his future thereafter depends on the team's strength. The French international says the club must assemble a squad capable of competing for the Scudetto, otherwise he will leave.
"Let's get back into Serie A, then we will see," he told Corriere dello Sport.
Like goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon he voiced his concerns about the club's ability to build a squad capable of challenging for the title.
"The club's directors will have a plan, but at the moment I don't know what it is," he said.
"To be one of the top four sides in Serie A does not interest me - I want to win.
"It will be crucial to play in a strong and highly competitive squad. Then my family must also be happy."
Recent reports have suggested the 28-year-old is unsettled at the Stadio delle Alpi and that Juve were considering a swap deal that would see Trezeguet and Milan's Alberto Gilardino trade places.
However, Trezeguet's statement ought to quell speculation for a short time at least.
