A victory in the first official competition (the Italian Supercup), an excellent debut in the Serie A against Atalanta and a good match against Feyenoord in the debut in the Champions League. The start of the 2002/2003 season was more than positive for Juventus. But ther’s still one thing which can be improved, as it’s actually happening: the injuried player’s situation.
One after the other, Marcello Lippi is recovering all the injured blackandwhite players. Salas is nearly fully recovered, Tudor got back to work with the group and Zambrotta is close to do the same. Also Pessotto, recovering from the knee surgery, and Conte, incredibly unlucky in this period, are getting better. The only name missing is the David Trezeguet’s one.
But also Trezeguet will be available in a short while. In these days the French bomber started traning with the teammates and today, in the afternoon, gave other important news on his condition. In the friendly match against the amateurs of Canavese (Serie D), Trezeguet remained on the pitch for one hour showing he didn’t lose his confidence with the goal. He actually scored four goals in a little more than half an hour, showing all his skills: with the left foot, with a header and twice with cleverness.
Good news especially for the condition of the knee: “The knee is ok, it answered well to all the work done these days. Now I’ve only got to improve the physical condition. Because of my injury I’ve spent the last month only being cured without training. Today’s match? I’m happy about it. The knee didn’t give me any problem. I enjoyed also having had the chance of scoring some goals, surely they help my mood. Now I’v only got to keep on working to get back as soon as possible to work the rest of the team”.
