true. But our teamwork sucks bigtime then. When I see Juventus play, we dont run enough and trying to help eachother. The passing between the players are awful. Serie C class IMO. We can't control the ball for more than 10 seconds :p

we need players who are good passers and someone who is creative.

i would prefer the total football route....get sneijder in

but that aint gunna happen.

Imo we merely need a box to box midifilder....like lamps and rosicky, with a quality left winger.

A single playmaker is a nice thing to have, but the more deadly teams, who play the more attractive football have more than one "play dictator".....

Milan...kaka, dhorasoo, Pirlo, Seedorf
Barca: Xavi, ronni, Deco
Real:zizou, raul, ronni etc etc etc
Arse: Henry, Pires, Ljunni, reyes, Bergy
Man Scum: Shcoles, giggs, Rooney, Ronni...

Good football comes from good teamwork....not just a playmaker like riquelme.
You forgot Giuly...

But, you're right, really good teams have many playmakers, and that's the basis for my insistence that Riquelme is not the answer for us. We've got the potential to have a team like that. We've got Zambrotta, Zlatan, and Camo. With Olivera coming along and maybe Kapo, there's potential. We need another midfielder who can make real plays. Riquelme is not that player. He's only going to take away from those other players...

ahh how can i forget Ludo!!

Im in agrement, one man will not improve the whole teams passing...riquelme will not make us into a passing team, it need to be a team mentality, thats where a team player like rosiky will be usefull.

You all are talking, as martin so good puts it, tull. Your trying to explain to us how it will look like if a satelite crash on Saturn, There is no way you would know. You don't know how the other players would perform or which role they would get beside Riquelme.

You can show me examples, sure. But even if you do its impossible to show me an 100% correct one. There is only one way of knowing how Riquelme would do with us and that is to take a chance. Either he would lift our team beyond ground and heaven. Or he'd flop and were back at square one.
Everybody knows what greatness he possess so its not like he's value would go down to zero if he sucks with us.

i dont doubt in anyway Riquelme is a quality player...but he clearly doesnt do any work what so ever....whereas rosi does.

U are right in that we have no idea of how he really will perform...but we can estimate. Who knows how anyone will perform?? Nobody has an exact anwswer. That why u speculate. Using past knowledge and experience to help make a judgment.

Therefore in my opinion a player of riq's style will not suit our current style.Nor will he imo change the team into a passing team without the aid of more siginings...or the use of other preripheral players.

Thus i would rather risk us signing a more suitable player from what we know.

Good answer. :thumb:

I would agree, but I'm so confident in this guy. I'm sure this is the guy Zlatan and Trezeguet needs, or atleast Trezeguet. This is the guy who can send him the perfect balls into the penalty area. This is the guy who knows how to attracs the strikers defenders and then do something no one thought was possible.

I don't see at that big of a risk. I see it as a 75-25% success! :)

true he would have a veryy good attacking bonus. But this will surely mean we wont be playing with wingers. And i agree he will likely to be successfull. But i would prefer a more team orientated future for juve...players like rosicky and quality 2way wingers would be a beautifull sigh to watch the interchangin of roles but also the variety of football we could play. With riq, it would be his jub, so the variety will be not as much.

Okay, I understand what you are saying. But, are we really playing with wingers as it is? I mean, Camoranesi have been most successful when going throw the center, and with Nedved you have no idea how that thing will run. It would be Zambrotta on the left flank in that case. And he's crosses have been primavera bench class lately.

The only thing I demand from Moggi is that he'd this once just open up his wallet and spends what ever amount necessary. Rosicky, Pizarro, Montolivo all fine by me. But the player of the future is Riquelme.

Edit: Oh shit I'm a bad speller, gotta' start overlocking my posts. ;) And thanks DDP, your the only one who understand my confused mind. :D

True, but Rosicky lacks the defendive prowess of someone like Makelele or Seedorf.
We're looking for a solution to our attacking problems. We need someone who can pass well and is creative, defensive skills aren't necessary right now.

Anyone knows how Riquelme did against Germany?
well actually i just watched the first half of the match and he was class,in the first 15 minutes he took on 4 defenders at one time, damn it everytime he gets the ball 2 or 3 german players surround him but they never seem to be able to stop him without a foul.

Juan Roman Riquelme has brushed aside the comments of Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain that he is unlikely to return to the Nou Camp when his loan deal with Villarreal expires this summer.
"No player is going to convince everyone," he said. "That only happened a long time ago with Maradona. Today I do not believe that any player exists who everybody likes.

"I continue thinking as always. I will repeat it until the last day because it is what I feel. I have a commitment with Villarreal until June and later I am Barcelona’s until 2007.

"I am not going to leave after putting so much hard work behind me."
