I think the American accent is more pleasant to listen to, once the novelty of both wears off. The Aussie accent is so crude and reflects the yobbo culture.

For example

"Carn Straya!" - Come on Australia! Usually shouted at sporting events
"Howzya Dayben?" - How has your day been?

I hate hearing Americans trying to imitate the Aussie accent, they always seem to get confused and throw in an English accent every 3 words. It's really cheesy sometimes, like in the Simpsons and that Outback Steakhouse (?) ad
