I gave this hint in the "Nick Against the World" thread -
That Balky is the professional pick-pocket, from Albania, that hangs outside Nick's favorite coffee bar in Rome. He apparently gives Nick daily progress reports about how much he has stolen on that particular day. For some reason, that and the name "Balky" just strikes me as funny.
