Allegri got two things wrong with Weah

1. Hes a wingback
2. He belongs on the right

His strength seems to be shooting, not crossing.
He was literally brought in as a Cuadrado replacement though, hence why we insisted on him in that role, not like we’ve had that many alternatives last season.

I can't believe he ever played as a striker in the past. He is invisible in that role and for a fast player didn't seem to make any runs into the channels or in behind.

His best position based on his time here is clearly as a LW. If the injury issues last longer then Motta needs to adapt his tactics and I'd like to see him and Yildiz switch position, even if only for phases in the game.

I don't understand why we haven't taken the opportunity to try Yildiz in the 9

good point

motta was asked about it, and said that yildiz can play as a false 9 (and did so in lille the other day), but he prefers weah at that position because he gives more depth

not that i agree. i feel that yildiz could beat his man in the middle too and both weah and chico are better on the flanks. we'd have to try that setup for a few matches or at least for a half an hour on occasions when vlahovic is already subbed out to assess

great output. that was the falsest nine performance i have ever seen.
More like Fake 9.

I will have to disagree a bit on this, especially in the first half he actually looked to be trying to make runs in behind but was just ignored by everyone, not sure if it was tactical or they were just avoiding him, but he sure is a complete waste in that role.

I was wanting him to take the shot on the second goal but worked out far better. He showed really good composure to pick out McKennie and good pace to stretch City.

I'm glad he is contributing this season, he's been a nice option so far.
