I don't get the transfer. He doesn't look anywhere near good enough to be our future starting RB, so what's his purpose?

Too expensive for a backup when we could have just renewed Cuads for a season or use Cambiaso as RB backup.

We need a starting RB, no backups.
I hope it's just silly season rumors. If we are actually going for him I hope that it is initiated by Giuntuli who sees something we don't. I agree though and we're chasing backups when we don't even have a starting RB/RWB. Spend 15m on a backup, have 3m left for starter? I assume we are bankrupt so I'd even accept Barbieri as backup to splash on a starter instead. We are not playing in Europe so we won't need to rotate and Cambiaso can fill in if the starter gets injured.

Benefit of the doubt in this case, all our current directors literally came from the NextGen, so I assume they know what they’re doing while scouting. The profile is interesting: cheap, versatile and young

I understand but I assume that's a giant in our budget. We can't afford to kick out the poison but we can afford to spend it on a backup?

What makes you say 12m is a giant in our budget? Its a pittance for most decent signings, so scale down on the hysteria.

And just because a team is unwilling to terminate contract and just count is as a loss, doesnt club have nothing to spend for transfers. The former is bed red in the books, the latter is not only a player you wanna use, but someone you see as asset.

So calm down, don't let the doomsday mantra around here make you into hysteria. Every time its been exaggerated how broke we are, we shown we are willing to spend. So 12m should not be raising any alarms in your mind.

Maybe you are right, I hope so. But our economy is looking pretty dark. Thanks to recent downgrades our economy is stabilizing but that was before we lost UEFA revenues, and I wouldn't be surprised if UEFA has more sanctions to surprise us with a year from now. I don't think 12m is pocket money if we take into consideration everything we need to accomplish without loosing key players. We need to cut corners, sign a bunch of players and we're stuck with a few that we can't get rid of. So whilst 12m for the entire budget is peanuts, it will take away other opportunities.
I want each acquisition to be made carefully and have post-Allegri in mind. A year from now he will finally be gone, so purchase with that in mind instead of temporary solutions due to Allegri.
I should also be clear that I've never seen the dude, my judgement is based on others judgement here.

Are you sure we WANT a starting RB? Or is it a RWB? Or perhaps a RW? Only one man knows...or does he?
