nice assist to higuain today!!

i really wonder if atleti will buy him for around 8 million which would be a steal given his invisible contribution in his 2 and a half seasons with us

how he was our prized purchase that summer is way beyond me

Because he had been a high quality player, in Portugal, England and France. And was a regular for his national team. He has slotted into the Madrid midfield, fairly soon after arriving there on loan, and made the position his own. What does all this tell you??? That he is a poor ballerina of a player??? I don't think so. When we see, especially this season, so many of our first team players woefully underperforming, surely its clear that there is something very wrong with our club. For had he stayed, he would be no worse than the rest of our midfield.

Ranieri didn't give him much of a chance either.

Our midfield look screwed. Every players there seems doesn't have a clue what role they played and what their best ability to utilize. You can see Momo going up and has so much misplaced passes, Melo with clumsy control as anchor midfield, or the worst is utilize Marchisio as winger..

How can you perform in such a mess. But still Tiago doesn't have future in our club for sure

what is the difference, between 'showed promise preseason and early season' and 'overall an awful season'???

I do not see melo, poulsen, or marchisio, as having anything approaching a solid season of football...which you can say is indicative of the team as a whole, which is fair, but it does not detract from the fact that its impossible to say that ANY of our midfielders playing where Tiago can play, have been even Acceptable, in terms of the season long form. Blame the board, i agree, blame the managers, I agree, but the players must also shoulder much of the blame and responsibility for such a shocking period in our history...and when I see a player, wicked at other clubs, both before and after being with us, it doesn't make sense for me to criticize him.

We can create a myriad of hypotheses to explain his generally poor performances in Italy; frankly, at this point in time, it really doesn't matter.

He may not have been given a fair shake, but the damage to the relationship between the club and player has been done. The sooner we can recoup some of that transfer fee, the better - we desperately need it.

At least we know that he won't block a transfer to Atletico...:sergio:

To add to my clearly welcomed words...I am NOT eager to see Tiago return. I hope he continues to do well in spain, then has a wicked world cup, and we get a good price for him, unless there is ALREADY a BUY option in his loan deal with madrid. Still...if he has a wicked world cup, we get a new manager, i would not be desperately unhappy to see him return.
