Tiago rejects Everton loan switch

Juventus have revealed that Tiago has rejected a loan move to Everton.

The Serie A side had agreed a year-long deal with Everton, plus the option of a permanent move for the 27-year-old Portugal international.

Juve sporting director Alessio Secco said: "All that was needed was the player's agreement - and that never came. We take it he will stay with us."

Tiago has been a huge disappointment in Italy after joining Juventus from Lyon last summer.

Juve were thought to be keen to offload him in order to make room for more signings before the transfer deadline.

However, Secco announced there will be no new faces at the Turin outfit this summer, regardless of whether or not Tiago leaves.

"The market remains closed to us regarding players coming in, like we already said some time ago now," he added. "Even if Tiago leaves nobody else will come in."

Oh God, I have to suffer another year of agony.....

Blessing in disguise you wait and see.
Flop in disguise, more appropriate.

If he stays, ranieri will use him. Especially since we have such a tight schedule, add some probable injuries and he plays. He'll get his chances and this time around he'll take them better. Then again hes no CR7, so even if he plays well some idiots will still label him flop because he doesn't score goals or dribbles.
Dude, you're blinded with love. Stop trying to preach about this player when everone has seen how shite he was last season. I will hope for the best but my expectations are very low. I am confident he won't prove anything this season, I even think he is going to be last in the pecking order. You'll eat your words.

Didn't notice anything special in his performance yesterday... Ekdal played way better IMO.
100% agreed. Although he made some neat passes, he must be the new Pirlo.

No, flop has been around for a season, backed by lame arguments.

Some players such as Camoranesi shine when they can play their own game. When the manager and the fans have faith in them and they have nothing to prove. I'd put Amauri and Chiellini in this bracket too.

Then we have players like Tiago who do not seem to enjoy that kind of pressure. They can't be the star player or the centre of attention. They are never the driving force of a team, but can be good if they have real leaders around. Now we have the trio of Zanetti, Poulsen and Sissoko who are expected to do the dirty job and boss around in mifield. Tiago is now forgotten and will thus do decently. As cover.

Our squad depth is impressive and since we are not keen to buy better starters, we can tolerate his existence...
He might improve, or we can always sell/loan him at x-mas...

We have depth, but what is point in having depth with little quality in it? We have non-existent fullbacks bar a talented but inexperienced de ceglie, average centre backs bar chiellini, our management somehow believe that filling our midfield with defensive midfielders will enable to "compete" with Inter. Apart from our strike force & Buffon in goal our squad is poor quality wise.
