Monaco target Tiago Thursday 3 July, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus midfield misfit Tiago Mendes could be sold to Monaco to release funds for the purchase of Liverpool star Xabi Alonso.

The Portuguese international arrived from Lyon last summer with high hopes, but was quickly banished to the bench after some unconvincing performances.

With the Old Lady determined to lure a big name new recruit in the market, Tiago’s days in Turin seem to be numbered.

And there are reports in the peninsula that Monaco are willing to pay around £6m to take Tiago off Juve’s hands.

According to L’Equipe, the Bianconeri received an offer last week from Monaco President Jerome De Bontin.

The additional funds could prove valuable as director Jean-Claude Blanc prepares to fly to Liverpool to discuss a fee for Alonso.

Rumours suggest that the Anfield outfit are looking for around £12m, while Juve are keen to keep the fee under £10m.

What does flair matter, Zanetti assisted tons and hold our passing game in midfield, Tiagos supposed flair amounts to squat because he does fuck all.

I also think, that we should give him another chance. He used to be one of my favourite players. Don't know why he never showed his class in black and white. If Xabi is unavailable, I would give him another chance!

Again, you're looking at this as a disappointed Juve fan, also known as going with your heart instead of your brain.

Ask any Lyon fan whether he has flair and was very useful or not.

That's all I'm going to say regarding that issue.

Now, I agree Tiago should be given another season because he's proven to me in the past that he's a good player. Perhaps he's more settled in now. But if all he's going to do is be a reserve in this team no matter what, I hope he goes to a team that has more brains than this one and can find another niche like Lyon and Chelsea.

So let me get this straight, you are saying I use my heart instead of my brain because I say Tiago was quite useless for us? And him playing badly is due to the lack of BRAINS of Juventus. And you are saying to me between us two I am using my heart over my brain in this case?

He won't make a difference though in games that matter.
He is not the first player to shine very brightly and to be blinded by their own brilliance. He will never be that player again, a good player yes, but not for us.
So stank or poulsen will be that player :disagree: , i'd rather we keep tiago for another season than spending 10 mil on either of those two and by next season our smart board will realize that they did another mistake just to go out again looking for another CM.......

No, I said you weren't using your brain because you said "Tiago does fuckall." You should have specified "with Juventus", even though he did more than "fuckall" as he had more assists than Nocerino despite playing about 20 less games.

If it were me, I'd say give Tiago another season to see what he can do, considering some players take longer than others to accommodate themselves in a new club and league. But knowing how prissy some Juve fans can be and how inept our management is, I guess it would be better for Tiago to find himself a better manager who has the brains to use him correctly.
