well im for tiago staying next season. i dont know what the problems were this season but in my opinion hes improving and looks more comfortable now, thats gotta be something positive. plus hes a good player (may not be in juve at the season), but i think he deserves a second chance.

Tiago never was and never will be anything more than a decent player...he has always been the support act to the main man in the MF, and our mgmt. was extremely naive to expect him to boss the midfield...sell him now, and use that money to buy a genuine class midfielder

having the most completed passes is not difficult, when u pass just sideways or to the back... he does not play the deadly through-balls we expect him to play ... so the number of 11 not completed passes is quite high, if you take into account, that he only plays the easy backwards or sideway passes...

if someone tried the attacking pass more often, then it would be natural that a few of them don't find their target (even if you expect from a class player, that he is able to make deadly passes that lead to a goal, from more than 10 deadly pass attempts)

i can play 100% complete passes a game, if i always play back to the keeper ... that is no art

he started off badly, then improved and imo had some good games to his name. it could be that he didnt settle in properly or whatnots but his improvement makes me want to give him a second chance, i have faith that tiago of lyon will resurface in juve if he was given the chance. i know many disagree but i guess we'll never know unless it actually happens. up to juve really.

Tiago has an 80% pass completiton percentage, which is really good for a midfielder, especially considering that he's been trying through balls as well.

It depends on whom we are getting, right now, tactic wise we could use a player like Tiago and dont forget that his price has actually dropped a lot.
If we get someone like Alonso and then get the chance to sell Tiago for a good amount a swap him with a player like Maxi R. then we could let him go...

Atlético de Madrid have revived their interest in Tiago Mendes and are locked in talks with Juventus about a summer transfer for the Portuguese midfielder.

Los Colchoneros had hoped to sign the former Chelsea holding player in the winter window, but La Vecchia Signora's asking price meant that talks were called off.

Four months later and the situation has changed with Juve now willing to entertain an offer from Atleti for the player that the club wanted to replace Maniche.

Coach Javier Aguirre and and sporting director Jesús García Pitarch are now hopfeul that a deal can be done for the player that expressed his desire to move to Spain rather than England in January.

It was reported at the time that Juve were unhappy with Tiago after he stated that he would rather go to Atlético, who were offering less money, than Tottenham.

The Serie A outfit wanted him to accept a return to the Premier League because Spurs' offer was much bigger and when he refused their was a stand-off which ended with any transfer to la Primera being blocked.

An offer of €11m was made on the condition that Tiago made 15 appearances before the of the season in the winter window, but that bid has now been reevaluated.

Atlético are hopeful of bringing in two new midfielders this summer with Tiago Motta's continuing injury problems and Nacho Camacho still learning the game at the highest level.

i think people don't understand what he was bought for in the first place. IMO he was bought to do what he is doing, which is keeping possession of the ball & to keep things ticking over. ALMRION was the one who was bought to make the attacking threat in the midfield. so i don't understand the flack the guy's been gettin for doin his job.
I think our board did a bit of a turncoat on him and changed their expectations when almiron flopped so badly.

I say he should stay, im tired of backing him up...you say he floped? how many games did he start? 7 8?

the guy didnt get his chances, still he kept improving..next year we will need depth and he can be a solid back up for alonso or zanetti.

I never expected him to be zidane, at that time i was seeing him as good cm who can hold and pass the ball not more, and he fits that bill very well.

CR tactics and his lack of playing time cost him a national team call up, I dont believe we should be pissed at his play more so than he should be pissed at CR or our management.
