But imo he shouldn't go out and say the things he said in the media. One of the essential things that will get us over the line this season is the closeness of the group and thats obviously not helping.

Tiago: Play Me Or I Will Leave In January

Juventus flop Tiago Mendes has admitted he is unhappy at the club and could leave during the January transfer window if he does not get more playing time.

The Portuguese midfielder was Juventus’ most expensive acquisition for the new season as the Bianconeri forked out £9.2m for the Lyon man.

Tiago was expected to provide the Juventus midfield with some much-needed power after the loss of Patrick Vieira and Emerson in 2006.

However the ex-Chelsea man has been a complete disaster in Turin and after making just one Serie A start this campaign, he has been continuously linked with an exit away from the Stadio Olimpico.

“If things carry on like this I’ll leave in January,” Tiago warned. “I’ve spoken to Ranieri and told him that I’m not happy because this isn’t what I came here for.

“So far my time with Juve has been a disappointment. I thought I’d be a first-choice player, but it has been the exact opposite and my time here hasn’t been easy.

“Initially I admit that I felt tired, but I got back into shape by the time the season started and the boss has still preferred other players.”

Tiago is likely to be on the bench again during Sunday evening’s Serie A match with Genoa.

To be fair, Ranieri does watch Tiago play day in day out, i'm sure his reasons for not playing Tiago or somewhat justified. Tiago isn't an exceptional player to begin with, he's a good complementary player, never one to lead the midfield. Add to that, Zanetti and especially Nocerino have performed beyond expectations, which doesn't make it any easier for Ranieri.

Zanetti can't be replaced. He's our finest player at the moment. Nocerino has been doing ok not exceptional but he's doing what he's asked to do.

He only started Tiago in two matches now, one in Coppa against Parma, he wasn't impressive[but that was his first game] 2nd was against Reggina i think where he performed well.

At Real it was Capello with Beckham, at Inter it was numerous players with numerous managers, in France it was that lunatic Domenech with Trezeguet. Sure, every single manager knows his players better than we do, but that doesn't mean they can be fair and unbiased. And it certainly doesn't mean that a manager knows how to utilize his players. Hey Dominic,why the fuck does Ranieri play a Crappy Almiron over & over again & dont even give Tiago a chance to play.
Again,the guy has every right to leave,this is the first time I see Juve taking a great player & turn him into this.

But Tiago has a history of always being a perfect person on & off the pitch,he never caused any troubles in any club he played for.

This whole affair sounds like the kind of thing where two parties are involved in the problem. It's not all Tiago, and it's not all Ranieri either. Both of them are likely creating this situation. Tiago perhaps by form and attitude. Ranieri by attitude and stubbornness perhaps.

That said, our midfield is pretty thin with injuries and we would do well to avoid more fatigue this early. On that level alone, Tiago should at least get a sub in soon to at least get the ball rolling. From there, it should be up to him to prove his merits or not. We haven't seen him take the field enough to know if he's any better or worse than, say, Landry Bonnefoi was as a backup keeper for us in recent years.

Tiago Mendes is set to leave Juventus in January after director Alessio Secco reacted angrily to his outburst. “He should focus on training.”

The Portuguese midfielder was one of the big summer signings following their promotion to Serie A, but has barely featured.


Today he launched a scathing attack on Coach Claudio Ranieri and warned he would walk away mid-season if he did not get more playing time.


That outburst did not go down well with Secco, who made the club’s position very clear.


“At Juventus there are no groups of favoured players. The Coach makes the decision and we have the utmost respect for him,” pointed out the director of sport.


“We have faith in Tiago and consider him an excellent player, but we did not like his comments and he disappointed us.


“Nobody has ever doubted the professional qualities of this lad, but he should think more about his efforts on the field and in training if he wants to catch Ranieri’s attention. Only Ranieri decides who is worthy of a place after viewing the weekly work done within the squad.”


Former Chelsea and Lyon star Tiago had complained he was considered “fourth choice” by the tactician.


“There is no such thing as a first, second, third or fourth choice at Juventus. Everyone must put themselves at the disposal of the team and the Coach, confirming on the pitch their feelings and ambitions,” concluded Secco

I didnt say this.
I said that Almiron has been given the chances to start at least 5 times & recently he sucked like hell & he was for me the poorest player on the pich & even if he doesnt start he gets in as a substitute.
On the other hand Tiago had only one chance to start in the league(against Reggina) & he played a good game & every Juve supporter though he will start the next match,but Ranieri had other stuff in his mind.

I am not saying this stuff only coz I like the guy,but paying 12 mill. for a guy to put him on the bench is simply stupid.
It is like Tottenham with Bent.
Anyway I dont think Ranieri is an asshole,actually I like the guy & I admire everything he is doing with the team BUT I think he is handling the tiago situation real bad & hope this changes as soon as possible.

P.S: Tiago was brough to Chelsea by Mourinho.

I'm going to have to agree with Tiago here. Ranieri apparently does not see him featuring in the side despite him supposedly being the tinkerman, a term that is starting to become painfully annoying to me. Claudio seemingly rotates all but one player... Tiago.

But then again, I don't think Ranieri knows how to use Tiago. So unfortunately we bought a player our manager has no use for. Well done, Juventus.

CR should give him a chance. It won't be fair to wait until January and send him and some cash for Quaresma. How could we know that Quaresma will be better and will faster adapt to Italian style.
I think that he deserve to start in first 11 this Sunday, and in next two games and then we could say, if he is the right player for Juve. If he could play for Chealse and Lyon, then he couldn't be only an avarage player. I was watching some games before (when he was at Chealse and Lyon) and IMO he is better player then Almiron.
