Tiago will barely get a look in now we have signed Sissoko.

I doubt much will change between now and the end of the season.

Actually NOW more than ever Tiago will be given his chance. WHy?

Because we have no other passer in midfield in our current squad. If Sissoko suceeds in playing his role as a pure defensive midfielder and protecting our attacking players on his own then Tiago will have more room to create.

Tiago's weakness is his positioning defensively, and he doesnt seem able to place him self properly in transition defence offence and vise versa. Play him behind the two strikers and leave Sissoko alone in defense side of the midfield.

Tiago Will Prove Himself – Gigli

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is convinced that midfield flop Tiago Mendes will prove his worth to the team.

Tiago was the Bianconeri’s big-money signing when he joined from Lyon last summer, and was expected to provide some much needed quality in the middle-of-the-park.

However the 26-year-old has been a terrible disappointment, making just 11 appearances, five of them starts, in Serie A this campaign.

Juventus tried desperately to offload the player during the January transfer window, however he stayed in Turin when a move to Tottenham Hotspur fell through at the last minute.

"I am convinced that Tiago has class - which has been highlighted by Mauro Camoranesi and he will also convince [Coach] Claudio Ranieri," said Cobolli Gigli.

"Tiago has probably in some cases not been granted opportunities by coach Ranieri because he is forced to go every time for the three points and has made other selections.

"However, I hope that there are other opportunities so Tiago can prove himself at Juventus."

Tiago has not featured since being substituted in the week 21 match against Cagliari, which Juve drew 1-1.

His chances have been further hampered by the signing of Momo Sissoko from Liverpool last month.

The Malian had his first start against Reggina on Saturday, but had a miserable night, as he was to blame for both of the Calabrian side’s goals, while he also missed a sitter from six yards out.

When Ranieri started an unfit camo in the middle instead of Tiago then it was a clear indication that its either he is going to be used sparingly until the end of the season or there were orders from the board to punish him to the bench.

Both cases are such a shame because we need to introduce something new to our midfield sometimes.
