Tiago: 8.5 - Slow start to the game, but the midfielder soon came into his own. It was his wonderful pass that unlocked the North Korean door for Meireles to open the scoring, and he also made his presence felt from a defensive point of view. Scored a couple of goals after the break to cap a productive evening.

I don't understand all the bashing. It was clearly our fault he was not performing. He seems just fine EVERYWHERE else he plays (and scoring) execpt for Juve which suggesting the problem may not necessarily be all on him!

Even before he was signed everybody knew he worked best in a 3-man midfield, so the question has to be why was he bought to play in a 2 man CM? Though he did have a good spell just in the lead up to the game against inter when he got injured. You people on here just always look for somebody to hate on! (justified or not)

Who else out of all our "worls class" CM has better passing? When he was in the team during the good sppell everybody was lauding how good it was to have the team passing well in midfield again and being able to hold onto the ball.

We were just had the misfortune of being Secco-ed!!! buying players who did not suit our style of play, just to say we signed a player with a bit of a reputation. IF del neri does decide to go 4-3-3 this seaon then letting him go may be a mistake as that is where we see this player at his best.

But i guess as long u lot have someone to bitch on it's all good.

I liked him at Chelsea. The most important thing is that he was crap for more than 2 seasons with us though.

Either use him to get someone else or cash in on him. Either way, we have to get rid of this one.

Ronaldo also played a large part in the remainder of Portugal's seven goal haul and was voted the man of the match, although he was modest enough to pass on the accolade.

He explained: "I gave the man of the match prize to Tiago because he played better and it was only fair to give the trophy to him."

What's this I see... Ronaldo losing his arrogance? Admitting that someone else on the team played better?

There is some truth when you wonder why a player performs everywhere else but sucks here.

It was pretty obvious. Ronaldo even smirked at how weak his goal was, which he scored after the match was long over.

That fat English dude on ESPN, who's largely okay, didn't even mention Tiago's name while talking about yesterday's match :andyandbarcelona:
I  ESPN.

Almost as much as I love Sarah Silverman scoring goals for Portugal and not Juventus.
