Oh yeah, sure. It's Tiago's fault for Sissoko not being able to control the ball.

Tiago never had the ability to be the midfield playmaker anyway.
No one asked him to be a top notch playmaker, but he was barely even playable tonight. Sissoko was forced to drop down and have too much possession for his own good.

Marchisio outshone Tiago tonight and should play the next game.

Tiago came back to get the ball, but then he gave it away.

Again, blaming Tiago for Sissoko's laughable ability to control the ball is unacceptable.

If people want to play this goddamn system they better understand both central midfielders need to be able to play the ball. Especially if they "love it so much."

But Tiago never made himself available.

Sissoko can't pass and Tiago can't defend: they need to cover each others weaknesses, but tonight they just played as two individuals.

Marchisio, though his passing wasn't up to his usual standard, at least went deep to take responsibility to try and make the passes.

And why do you get so touchy when someone criticises Tiago? I understand the type of player he is and I know that he can be very useful to this side. Even when he was being terrible in the beginning, I defended him.

I wouldn't go that far.

Marchisio tried to do the right things, but he rarely succeeding in what he tried.
What I like about Marchisio is that he constantly pushes the team upwards. He plays with real determination and drive. While he might fail with his passing a bit too often, things happen when he's around.

You said, "People will complain about Chiellini and Sissoko's passing, but that was partly down to Tiago not going deep and taking the responsibility for make the forward pass."

I say, Tiago did come back for the ball and had it quite a lot, but he ended up squandering possession more than usual. While Tiago had a horrible match, one cannot blame him for Sissoko giving the ball away and losing it in midfield through bad touches. If we want to play this system, both central midfielders need to be able to play the ball.

It's Sissoko's fault alone for his own shortcomings with the ball, just like it's Tiago's fault for his poor defensive capability. What if I were to come in here and claim it was Sissoko's fault for Lampard beating Tiago to the ball because Momo needs to be there to bailout the Portuguese player defensively? Wouldn't that sound ridiculous?

I wouldn't consider that a ridiculous thing to say, but it depends on the situation.

Even if Tiago didn't go deep to take the ball off the defence, he should have stayed closer to Sissoko. Too often there was a big gap between them which meant Sissoko didn't have an easy pass to play.

The two of them can play well together, they have done it the past. They just need to develop their understanding a bit more to be able to perform well against that quality of opposition.

Tiago was our best player tonight, I cant believe you people. He only was subbed because of a facial injury, he created the best chance and was the most calm and poised of our entire team. For fucks sake you guys are blind, sissoko was horrible couldnt even control a ball, and so neurotic with his challenges. Jesus christ.

He wasn't our best player but there was much job required from him as his role was to create our game. Unfortunately he ended up between Lampard and Ballack.

but it's not Sissoko's fault that he is playing in a position where his shortcomings are emphasised.
That is true. Emphasized below.

But Sissoko was diving all over the pitch like a dingo with rabies. There was no way for Tiago to stay "closer" to him because Momo would be stretching himself out of position and winning balls.

You can't expect Tiago to be following him around like he's on a leash. The system we use, which everyone seems to agree upon using, naturally puts Sissoko in situations where he has to make longer passes. That's the problem with using a system that stretches the midfield out and fielding a player who can't pass in the center.

He wasn't our best player, but Sissoko wasn't any good either.

I don't expect Tiago to follow him around. If Sissoko goes walk-about, that is his problem, though someone should tell him to do it less. It causes more trouble for us than the opposition.

All I want is Tiago to be within easy passing range of Sissoko when Sissoko recieves the ball from the CBs, or cut out Sissoko and Tiago take the ball from the defence.

I think you had an extra liking for Tiago, more then usual, but could be objective, but with this post, you just showed you arent no different from that Nedved fanboy Grande Pavel.

Insanely ridicolous thing to say Tiago was our best player when he was one of the worst ones. Mellberg, Buffon, the two strikers, Molinaro and Nedveds constant useful running (defensively, offensively they was cack), and Marchionni being quite useful when he came on, are just examples of players who were better for me.

Momo wasnt any good, Camo was nonexistant, Legro was sketchy, Chiellini was terrible with possession, but more useful then Tiago defensively (Tiago has stood his ground in refreshingly better games, but this game he was nonexistent defensively, and besides one excellent pass, was either giving away the ball, or shying from getting it), et etc, should I say more? How was he better then these players, in what way?

You have some who were supbar, some average, and some more useful then the othrs (with Mellberg the rock, the strikers and Gigi being top for me). Its quite clear which clear Tiago of this game belongs to, and he was one of the poorer ones of that group to boot.

Seriously, I understand sticking up for someone when they get bashed, but to say someone who had a very poor game to have been the best we had? Beyond fucking ridicolous, and as I said, no better then that Pavel fanboy, who atleast tries to sugar coat and gloss things to deflect from the average performances, never actually says he was the best Juve player when he was one of the worst ones.
