Anal sex aside, if Kovac stays and a replacement is on his way, it would be a great opportunity to sell Thuram since he's not getting any cheaper. I'm just a bit worried that we might be making too many changes in defense, since Zebina and Chiellini probably are on their way out as well (the latter not confirmed but I can't see him staying if we get Pasqual or some other wing back).

I would be keen on a switch with a young CB/RB. A good one nonetheless. Gallas maybe... but if we get even 5 mln Euros for Thuram this will be a great oppurtunity to approach a player of this kind, not to mention the gap in the starting eleven...
Thank you for everything Thuram, he deserves to be in Juventus Hall of Fame, he did a lot for the club, being or not the best defender in his position at current time :)

Btw: Guys with the thing going on here? Are you all happy now?
NO PAY, NO PLAY...

We wouldnt get much for the old boy but it shows that hes making way for a new arrival possibly Gallas :weee: which im totally up for.

Another thing recently Thuram has been dropped? Is he injured, or simply a way for capello to say See you later Lillian?

we are gettin Gallas anyways so I dont think their is a need to sell Thuram.....when thuram, canna, and buffon are all playing good and playing together its very difficult to get one by them, so if it aint broke dont fix it.

It is broke, anyone with pace carves up our defense.
you can only us your pace down the wings and if u watch thuram and cannavaro are caught out of position because they are covering for the LB and RB, i watched in the arsenal series and both games henry destroyed zebina down the right and thuram had to come over and help him out, thus leaving the middle open. Zambrotta gets caught maybe once a game which is amazing because he gives us so many runs down the left. If we get a solid fast RB like Gallas ( if he wants to play the right) we won't have problems.

Gallas will not be signed as a right back...he has stated many a time like Lillian, to dislike playing fullback....and he is a top draw cb anyway.

You are right, Zebinas pressences require pace from our centrebacks to allow them to do two mens job at the same time.

Imho a pacey centre back will help the likes of canna and lilian to help cover them in the future.

I think if we start balza down the right and zambrotta down the left with thuram and cannavaro in the middle we will be fine, zambrotta and balza both have great pace and can defend skilled players. I think it would be a shame if thuram ended his career at juventus this way.

I personally wont be dissapointed at all if thuram goes, better now than another season with the old veteran, he hasnt got too much in his tank, we need some fresh players and we can only do that by getting rid of the old. Just a comment about this rumour however...Arsenals right flank is pretty much strong as it is (eboue) also his centre backs are marvelling (toure, senderos). Clichy also looks like a good backup. Cambell may not have been good this season and possibly with him, cygan and laauren leaving it only then makes sense of thuram being chosen as a target. Even so if that is the case then Thuram will have to play part as a sub player, which i dont believe he may be that pleased about.

Nevertheless it all depends on how much we may get for thuram now, if we get rid of him next season will we really get as much? or can he really provide solidarity at the backline consistently for us next season.

If we do get rid of him then I believe pepe would be the ideal candidate to replace him, his physically as strong, young and much faster, although not prooven as much as thuram for obvious reasons it would be ideal however to bring a better fresh line up to the ageing centrebacks. Of course I wont argue with having gallas too.. either way there are many more better solid centre backs in the world and im sure they wont cost us too much of a fortune.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, no.

You won't be fine.

Your defence will be about as good as Eintracht Frankfurt's.

I agree, Thuram hasn't looked his best many times during this season, he still put in many solid performances though but more risks of him not doing well next year. Kovac is ahead of him this year and I think perhaps next year it will be a Cannavaro Kovac line-up.

As for a new young Defender, Pepe looks good enough prospect. Barzagli hasn't impressed as much as last year but might also be a good buy.
What happened to Gladstone and Masiello btw?

No, I didn't watch Juve that much from 03-05...I only watched every single match we played..

He was the best right-back in the world prior to 2003 for Juventus, however the Thuram that has played centrally over the past two years has made several crucial errors in Europe and has been saved time and time again by his counterpart Cannavaro. He's 34 years old and I do not want him starting for Juventus next season because he simply won't be good enough...his errors this season have been evidence enough. the difference between the Thuram center-back and the Thuram right-back are as clear as night and day.
sounds familiar....Thuram vs. Pessotto.... at least someone saw the light..
(Hint: you won't understand what i've just said unless you are a so called "real fan"..)

And yes, I suppose you're a supposed "real fan" living within the confines of Austraila. The fact of the matter is, your insistence on stripping the number seven away from Pessotto clearly shows you know nothing about Juventus... you know nothing about the traditions of our side while not giving the slightest care to the real Juventini within our squad. How dare you state that Pessotto does not deserve the number seven...he has given a decade of service to Juventus in a porfeessionl way that is beyond your obtuse comprehension. You're one of these spastic supposed Juve fans who never gives a care about tradition and never looks at the club as a whole. Saying Pessotto does not deserve the number seven after all these years of service is clearly the opinion of a gloryhunting fan and you lot are all too common within this side...I'm fairly certain you would not be fan of this club if we were demoted to Serie C after this Moggi scandel (look it up), considering you do not care about the players who give their all to this club and how you throw traditions to the wind.

Pessotto deserves more respect than this...and I am certain the fans in the Delle Alpi concur with me. Thuram is simply a mercenary and that notion is far beyond your comprehension... which is not a surprise to me. But go ahead, keep on thinking tradition means nothing and strip Pessotto of his number seven...what a great supporter you are.
