When you are in a part of the forum, lets say in the support forum, and you see the list of the topics ... well right after the last topic you have a blue line and there you can search for older topics (30 days old, 60 days old, topics from the beginning) ... you can repeat that in every part of the forum 
Or you can try and searh with the name of the topic if you don't know in which part of the forum it was posted ... then click on SEARCH at the top of the page, in the same line as you find Profile and stuff
