The only two players to have featured in all 21 of Genoa’s league games this season are both foreigners: Swiss defender Granqvist and veteran French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.
The Grifone shotstopper has been a fixture in Serie A for the last 15 years and has previously played with Inter, Verona, Parma and Fiorentina. The Frenchman only trails Javier Zanetti and José Altafini in terms of appearances for a foreigner at the highest level in Italy.
The striking pair of Immobile and Borriello have each netted five times this season, followed by Jankovic with three. Defender Luca Antonelli leads the way in terms of assists with five to his name.
The player with the most disciplinary problems in this season is Moretti who has received the most bookings in the side to go with a solitary red card. The only other Genoa player to be sent off in this campaign is Seymour, who received a straight red after only 25 minutes on the pitch in the Rossoblu’s 2-1 loss to Cagliari earlier this month.
The away team come to Juventus Stadium under new management. Coach Luigi Delneri was shown the door due to a record of two wins, two draws and nine losses from his 13 games in charge.
After a brief tenure at the end of 2010, Davide Ballardini will be hoping for a positive start on his return to the Grifone dugout. However, he faces a daunting task. Playing the reigning champions on their home patch.
