I think "god" is a spelling error and in translating the bible from ancient Hebrew, they should have written "good"

I do believe there is a higher (good) power. I don't stick to the Christian/Islam/Jewish view of it though.

Just try even reading up on some Sumerian mythology, one of the grandaddies of human spiritualism. Three thousand years before Christ, there were already stories out about Inanna being crucified (read: impaled on a spike) and left for dead for three days, and then rose again.

Religions are a lot more similar - even of some of the polytheistic ones - than most people would want to ever admit.

Most people are bred christian, hindoe or muslim.
I doubt a lot of people on this forum have made a choice regarding their religion.

And come to think of it, you wouldn't make something like christianity up on your own, now would you? My point is that most convinced religious people were bred that way and hardly made a choice.

In all reality, most religions look rather absurd. Praying to Mecca? What good is that? To me most religions carry a lot of ballast. They need to be more basic.

I dont know, but it seems it must only be UK or Europe that do this I dont know, but we learn about other religions in school over here.

Praying to Mecca is only for a sense of direction. We dont worship it or anything of the sort.

What seven says is true though, and personally I have tried to look into other religions and understanding my own, and I have made up my own mind.

But we've had so many countless discussions on religion and none seems to work.. so nevermind.

Btw, Just to get things clear, I hope you all know that the Qur'an always has to be in ARABIC, and then a translation. A Qur'an without the ARABIC writting is not considered a Qur'an. It is forbidden. As far as I know.

So I hope none of you read the Qur'an where it is only in ENglish because I have read 1-2 Qur'ans that are not the published by Muslims.

And may be in other parts of the world, learning religion is strictly individual but here in my country religion is a part of life whether you're a muslim or a christian, etc.
There are endless subjects from elementary school until highschool.

I also had the experience to spend one year in a Christian Private School (would've liked catholic better) and thus also read and discussed the bible (although I was offered to sit out in those classes).
