️ Thiago Motta: “We’ve had a good week of work. Whoever plays tomorrow will be ready to face a strong side like Atalanta. We’re focused, we know our opponents’ strength and we’re not wasting energy on anything else. We have to put everything we’ve worked on into practice to play well and win.”

We need to focus on this match and this match alone, as we’ve always done. Tomorrow we face a side who are doing well, have good players and have a very good coach who helped me during a tough time in my career.

Atalanta are a particular side, and they always press forward. They can also change how they mark you during the game, they know how to play football well and they leave you very little space. There are a lot of things that make them a strong side.

Koopmeiners has done well since he’s been with us. There’s always a need to improve. I’m happy for him that he scored last time out. He’s very important for us both on and off the pitch, he’s helped us a lot and will continue to do so

Yildiz is in good shape, and he has to keep growing as he has been doing. He’s very young and there’s huge room for improvement. He knows it, he’s humble, and he’s at our disposal. He has never stopped this year, he’s been ever-present.

We have to keep creating chances and keep pushing. It's important to keep carving out opportunities so our chance of scoring, and as a result of winning, is increased.

I have to compliment our forwards and midfielders for their efforts defensively. They’ve all worked very hard to make us solid. The defenders and ‘keepers have done well too, but we have to thank those further up the pitch who are always supporting our defensive efforts.

We played well in Bergamo but it wasn’t enough to get the three points, which says a lot about the opponent. We’ll keep doing what we need to do to win.

The guys have given their all since day one. But we need to work on finding a balance, they take on a lot of responsibility but sometimes give a little too much to the opponent. I believe in them because I see how they work, because they’re a good team, and they know perfectly where they are now and where they want to get to.

Will Motta still be our coach at Club World Cup this summer?
I'd move on from him at the end of the season!! He has been managing the team for 7 months and literally has changed nothing, It's quite obvious this team has no idea what it's doing. Just watch Empoli match and they played with B team and we passed the ball back to the GK more than 20 times in the first half and they were not even pressing!
