Thiago Motta's words to Mediaset after Juventus' elimination from the Coppa Italia against Empoli:

"Shame, I feel ashamed for what we saw in the first half, and I hope the players do too. We can make mistakes in anything, but not in attitude—our attitude was shameful. I failed to make the players understand the importance of this match, of wearing the Juventus jersey, and that's why we're not in the semifinals."

"No, I hope the criticism is really harsh. I think our fans were very kind to us considering what they saw in the first half—too kind. I expect a reaction from these players immediately because, again, I feel ashamed of what I saw from the team. The responsibility is mainly mine because I didn’t make them understand the importance of this match and what it means to play such a game wearing the Juve shirt."

"WE'VE HIT ROCK BOTTOM, WE NEED TO APOLOGIZE" - "Today, we played against an Empoli side that even rested some of their regular players. Talking about mentality at this point means talking about understanding where you are, what you need to do, and that you have to earn your place here every single day—you can’t expect things without giving anything in return. Today, we cannot expect anything because we gave nothing. We made the one mistake that is unacceptable at this club: our attitude. We played 20 times with the goalkeeper without taking responsibility, looking down—that is unacceptable. We need to apologize to the fans, the club, and the history of this team because we’ve hit rock bottom."

STILL BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM? - "I believe in the technical aspect because we have quality players—I’m convinced of that. But quality alone is almost never enough; you need other things to compete, especially the right attitude. That’s the main thing. Since I arrived, it’s the first thing I’ve talked about—it’s non-negotiable. That’s why I feel ashamed: missing a pass, a control, or a shot on goal is not the problem. What I can’t accept is the attitude and behavior on the field. But ultimately, the responsibility is mine."

"You have to earn things. It hurts me, it makes me feel ashamed. You have to respect where you are and the history of this club. This is not a technical or tactical issue."

Motta : “I feel ashamed of the attitude in the first half. I am wrong because I did not make the players understand the importance of the match and of wearing an important shirt like that of Juventus . I hope that the criticism is really strong. The public was kind…”

Thiago Motta : “The players must understand that they have to prove that they deserve to be here every day. Today we didn’t deserve anything. No one on the pitch took responsibility: an unacceptable attitude. We really hit rock bottom tonight. We have to apologize”

Thiago Motta : “You have to run and always commit, even in training. No technical or tactical problems in Juventus , but of attitude. There is someone who demands without giving. From a different attitude now we will have to start again”.

Thiago Motta : “In all the clubs I have worked for I have never criticized the players; because even when we lost, the attitude was never lacking, never! The responsibility is completely mine: I am the coach of Juventus …”

There we have it, he takes full responsibility for the failure.

In any other corporate job that's enough for a firing.

this is a spot on analysis, i give him that

that's why he should just pack his stuff first thing in the morning and call a press conference to announce that he's taking responsibility

#ThiagoMotta is no longer untouchable at #Juventus : his future is now at risk, even if the club is not expected to make any decisions before the end of the season. However, the coach's words in the post-match towards his players open a rift that is immediately evident.

I just wonder who he has in mind here:
#ThiagoMotta: “There are some players who demand without giving”

My guess is its definitely Cambiaso, but who else? Nico? Koop? probably not. Vlahovic maybe.

Players do have a right to complain. Vlahovic was the main goalscorer but was abruptly dropped for Muani and had to wait until the end of the PSV game with a horrible Muani performance before coming on and then nearly scoring. He should not be sidelined, he should be rotated and kept fresh regardless of contract dispute.

Then benching Yildiz for a total shit Gonzalez who keeps starting. Management is about preparing the whole squad so players can rotate and do the job. Yildiz comes in and tries to do too much to get a starting place and it shows in his play.

Don't get me started on Koopmeiners. Thuram should play every single game. Conceicao and Mbangula should be playing major minutes because they're both explosive and young.

I think we scrape 4th place but Motta needs to go.

Vlahovic was injured when Kolo joined we cant say for sure if he was sidelined or just not ready to play after injury.
Anyway, in the form Vlahovic is presting this year Motta really has all the arguments to sideline and bench his ass.

Yildiz or Thuram, though, he has no rights.

Every moment he is on the bench we are in the bigger risk. They should have sacked him by now and appoint interim manager I don’t care if it’s even our U23 manager just take him out, give that fresh air to the player which lasts 3-4 games that would help right nowz

How much did the three missed goals from #Juventus cost this season:
- eighths #ChampionsLeague approx. 11 million
- #CoppaItalia approx. 5 million
- #SupercoppaItaliana approx. 7 million
For a total of approximately 23 million euros

he didnt score in his last 5 games, but was played as winger in some and didnt start one of them. Still got 2 assists though. Nevertheless goals and asssists are on thing, but at least he doesnt look like complete amateur, while Dusan looks like the worst technically gifted player in the whole team and we have Gatti.
We are laughing at Gatti, but maybe its Dusan who could thrive at building sites.
