More accurate translation:

Thiago Motta's words to Mediaset after Juventus' elimination from the Coppa Italia against Empoli:

"Shame, I feel ashamed for what we saw in the first half, and I hope the players do too. We can make mistakes in anything, but not in attitude—our attitude was shameful. I failed to make the players understand the importance of this match, of wearing the Juventus jersey, and that's why we're not in the semifinals."

"No, I hope the criticism is really harsh. I think our fans were very kind to us considering what they saw in the first half—too kind. I expect a reaction from these players immediately because, again, I feel ashamed of what I saw from the team. The responsibility is mainly mine because I didn’t make them understand the importance of this match and what it means to play such a game wearing the Juve shirt."

"WE'VE HIT ROCK BOTTOM, WE NEED TO APOLOGIZE" - "Today, we played against an Empoli side that even rested some of their regular players. Talking about mentality at this point means talking about understanding where you are, what you need to do, and that you have to earn your place here every single day—you can’t expect things without giving anything in return. Today, we cannot expect anything because we gave nothing. We made the one mistake that is unacceptable at this club: our attitude. We played 20 times with the goalkeeper without taking responsibility, looking down—that is unacceptable. We need to apologize to the fans, the club, and the history of this team because we’ve hit rock bottom."

STILL BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM? - "I believe in the technical aspect because we have quality players—I’m convinced of that. But quality alone is almost never enough; you need other things to compete, especially the right attitude. That’s the main thing. Since I arrived, it’s the first thing I’ve talked about—it’s non-negotiable. That’s why I feel ashamed: missing a pass, a control, or a shot on goal is not the problem. What I can’t accept is the attitude and behavior on the field. But ultimately, the responsibility is mine."

"You have to earn things. It hurts me, it makes me feel ashamed. You have to respect where you are and the history of this club. This is not a technical or tactical issue."

Thiago #Motta : “In all the clubs I have worked for I have never criticized the players; because even when we lost, the attitude was never lacking, never! The responsibility is completely mine: I am the coach of #Juventus …”

[Nico Schira]
At least he seems annoyed by how it went and doesn’t talk again about all the progress he is seeing.

Or did he talk about progress and seeing positives again? I didn’t have the nerves to read more than the first sentence…

I have been preaching this since October!!! So he failed at 2 of 3 MINIMUM targets set by the club, while having the easiest draw possible in coppa and cl! We finished 20th in the cl with only ManCity being a big team and probably their worst version since the Arabs took over. Than we got knocked out without a fight against PSV lol and if you didn’t suffer enough in all those draws against relegation battlers at home and away, we get knocked out by an empoli side that was missing 9 starters. You just can’t defend this and he should be sacked before midnight! He will blew the top 4 finish, too. We have lazio Roma fiorentina Atalanta all away from home still…. If it wasn’t for Milan in fighting us for the ManU of Italy, we wouldn’t even be in the running for the 4th spot.

Have Man City actually ever beaten Juventus since their takeover? We beat them home and away under Allegri and drew with them in the Europa.

He is slowly but surely going to completely lose the dressing room if he continues in this manner, current signs are that more than just a few of them already aren’t listening.

It's mostly about the attitude of the players and that he feels ashamed of himself and the players.

He can talk all he wants. This is a culmination of all the pathetic games of this season and the absolutely shit performances that seem to get shittier. I don't believe anything he says so either he gets sacked, or we are basically risking this season and missing out on money and becoming even more terrible than we already are next season.

Anyone on this forum is defending Motta?
I wanted to give him time until just a few weeks ago because managers rarely turn things around completely in their first season.

But seeing him field braindead lineup after braindead lineup- of which the most egregious mistake was to keep playing Koop instead of Thuram, I realized he is a stubborn guy and no amount of time will save him.

I know we all laugh about these things, but seriously, is he a merda agent? I mean he has ruined his reputation as a coach but how dumb can you get. I mean week in week out he came out with the same shift, same excuses, today he had to change his tone to keep his job.
