it was the same 4-2-3-1 base formation, with some matches like the parma or stuttgart game reported as 4-3-3. mckennie didn't play as a trequartista but as a b2b on both occasions. the tactics were ~the same all along: possession, higher line, short passes, use the wings as much as possible, let yildiz and chico beat their man

We need to commit more bodies forward

Koop for whatever reason is always drifting left and we lack a central presence.

I think we would solve a lot of our issues if we either switch to a 4 3 3 and have a midfield three of Thuram Loca Koop

Have Thuram as the box to box, Loca as the DM and Koop with freedom to play that almost left mid free role we used to let Pogba play

Front 3 with the two wingers plahing a but more narrow with Cambiaso pushing up

Or

We put Koop in the midfield 2 and have Yildiz play the 10 role closer to the 9.

I still think we should try Yildiz as the 9 until Dusan is back, might give us a different look.

To be fair any tactical assessments on how we're playing at the moment doesn't carry much weight as we're clearly just adapting to what we've got available.

Our players lack understanding when to make runs in the box and Koopmeiners is the biggest mystery as to which position is he actually playing in the formation.

We look so static, I would like to see Koop move more vertically and overall more positional changes. But I can also understand that most are really tired by now given they start every game.

If we had more visionary people like you in the management we wouldn't be sitting in the 6th place in Serie A and Next Gen wouldn't be fighting for life in Serie C.
