So far I'm 83.79% satisfied with his job. Clear changes in our approach and mentality.

But one thing he needs to figure out is make Yildiz + Koopmeiners 1+1 > 2. Yildiz seems to be lost staying wide.

Two things I'd like to add. Yildiz needs to be quicker into the box when the ball is on the other flank and we are trying to push in-ways. If the tempo is low he can stay wide but he needs to spot when the ball might arrive in dangerous areas and get there. Similar to what Motta told Weah, get into the box, when he finally did he also scored. The other thing is to try to help him get into one on one opportunities. That's why he is out there. Many times, however, he faces 2-3 opponents have to backpass or go for a cross. He needs others to run and be more present to be given the space to venture inside or go directly towards goal the way he likes to. I would also, personally, prefer Koop to drop more deeper to come from behind rather than playing as a supporting striker. Instead of playing next to Dusan he can start deeper and get the ball whilst he is moving forward. I would also prefer if generally venture in the middle of the pitch more vertically rather than horizontally. He doesn't offer much when he is out wide. Although, to help Yildiz, he will have to roam around there when Yildiz receives the ball. That's my take atm.

@Alen I had a thought, have no idea how quantifiable it would be but figured you're the best bet.

It strikes me that we're short on experienced winners: players with winners medals for leagues, cups etc. This comes from having a young squad, but was wondering how this squad compares to the squad in Conte's first year? Obviously those who were here last year won the Coppa with Juventus but besides that:

Danilo is the one with the biggest collection by a huge margin, Locatelli won the Euros as a first team player, Koop won the Europa with Atalanta, Nico has been in the squad for two Copas Américas but I dunno how much he played...and that's about it.

Just a thought. With Conte we had Alex and Buffon - who had not only won loads but done it together at Juve and also Italy - plus of course Pirlo, but that also was more or less all for that squad as well. Don't think Vidal had won the Copa with Chile yet, and neither Chiellini nor Marchisio had much to their name at that time.

Barzagli too had a Bundesliga and a World Cup trophy. Chiellini was part of Capello's team that won serie A in 2006. Others like Licht, Vucinic had won the Coppa and the Italian Supercup. Caceres played some 1000 minutes in Barcelona's CL and La Liga wins in 2009.
But yeah, most were occasional winners. Only Buffon and Pirlo were an important part of teams that won a lot. Del Piero too of course, but he was more a presence in the locker room, because he didn't play a lot for us in 2011/12 (only 910 minutes).

But yeah, we did have some proven winners, which we don't right now, and we had more experienced players who were able to handle the pressure when the time came. On top of it, it turned out that the few younger players were an excellent choice, because they made excellent careers (Vidal, Bonucci, Marchisio).

It was a nice combination of proven winners, experienced players, youngish potential stars, and luck. By luck I mean Milan being crippled by injuries and being busy until April in the CL; Inter failing to replace their stars and relying on 33+ years old players; and Juve players having the fortuna to stay injury free all season long and to play only once a week.

We won't have the luxury to play once a week this year, and it's already clear that we won't stay injury free.

Thanks for this! What's your take on this squad this year? I feel like the average age is also lower as well as trophy counts? They do seem to have the mettle and grit to pull off results, but the maturity is still missing imo
That will inevitably come, but with time. I still think we challenge for the scudetto this year.

So this was his Bologna's side explained and his coaching vision.

I Personally don't see anything similar to his Bologna side and how we currently play.

There's just still so little chemistry in midfield which affects the wings

Coach Thiago Motta looks ahead to Saturday's Juve Lazio:

The team is doing very well, the players trained well and we will be ready for tomorrow's game.
I want to see performance as a function of the result. By playing well I mean in many situations, but always looking to get the result. We have to find the right balance between the two, we will try to put our players in the best possible conditions to express themselves.
The attitude in training has been good. Douglas Luiz is doing well, in difficult moments it's good to see people's reactions and I saw a fantastic reaction from him. So far when he has played he has done well, but he can improve.
Vlahovic is in good condition and will play against Lazio. In the centre forward role, many can play tomorrow. It depends on how you understand that position and what tasks you give the striker.
We knew from the beginning about the number of matches, so we should not complain today. Tomorrow we have a match, in two days another one and we have to be ready to be at our best every time we take to the field.
Adzic is doing much better. He is a great player, certainly he has less responsibility than other players we have in the squad. He can play as a midfielder, more or less offensive. When he plays I'm convinced he'll do well, he shows it in training.
If we have not won some games it is because we have not really deserved it. That is the reality. Tomorrow we will face a team with players who are doing well, a very experienced coach who I admire a lot. We have to be ready for anything.
When I say it's not my Juventus it's because that's the reality, there are many people in a club who build a team. Tomorrow we will have another chance to show that even in difficult times we can be a competitive team. The stadium will be full and that's good, it means there's enthusiasm.
Thuram is fine, as he's always been. He's a player who wants to improve every day, he has great ambition. He had a great teacher in his dad who always told him the truth. He shows in every training session that he wants to play. He must continue like this.
