There are some situations where it's an issue, and where it is rightfully called out. But it stands in no relation to other problems, and gets far more coverage than it should, in some circles at least.

And that wouldn't be that bad (if a bit annoying) in itself, but as a result of that overblown coverage the vast majority of anti-discriminatory organisations that fight real issues fave a lot more backlash and strawman arguments.
