    RIP.
I grew up with WWE and have many childhood memories of it. We had a VCR player and we would buy video tapes, which was illegal in my country at the time. I watched a lot of his matches and it always excited me.

Not many of my favourites from WWF back in that era are still alive now. Thanks, steroids. Maybe only Ric Flair and Jake the Snake.
It's not just the steroids. It's a life on the road for 300 days a year with a lot of alcohol, drugs, pills, and pain killers while putting your body through physical hell without ever getting to recover.

Yeah it's a tough life. A good mate of mine is actually a wrestler and he was offered a WWE contract once upon a time, scuppered by injury. It's not a lifestyle I could live but it's definitely interesting. He used to wrestle everywhere from backwater US to Japan with a lot of well known guys.

Roids, lack of sleep, flying all over the country and world, insane wear and tear on the body, fake sport or not, these dudes take numerous bumps night after night. In Hogan’s case, his finishing move (the leg drop) caused him to do have long-term back issues, which then lead to him having a bad neck that’s pretty much been the catalyst to his death.
